Considering I wasn't even alive when the original trilogy was in theaters, absolutely. Seeing them on the big screen was an experience and I didn't even get bothered by the changes until hindsight and age kicked in.

Yep. Went opening weekend for each of them. Empire is the best of the three SE. The consensus at my LCS at the time was that while interesting we all pretty much preferred the original versions. The special editions are what made me go ahead and get the Japanese laserdiscs of the original trilogy.

To my eternal disappointment, no. Seeing Star Wars (77 or 97) on the big screen is on my bucket list, just so I can experience the Star Destroyer cruising into view on a big scale.

My dad took me to see them all, it was my first Star Wars experience, I was probably five or six. Really fond memories.
