Basically, the ones that Uematsu wasn't the composer for (main series).
I'm gonna have to go with XV.

I came in here to say VIII... then I see it's not a option.
I wasn't thrilled with any of the options. I vote "meh"

XIV is missing. While Uematsu did work on the original game, Masayoshi Soken has done the overwhelming bulk of the soundtrack since A Realm Reborn came out.
And that would've gotten my vote because it is fantastic.
None of the other 3 are particular favorites of mine, but XIII has some good battle themes at least.

Say what you will about 13 but the soundtrack is damn good. And yeah, the theme for Leviathan makes the fight feel epic. Although my personal favourite battle theme is Ifrit's. Phase 3 in particular.

I can't really judge XV because I need to hear the game's soundtrack in context of the game to really appreciate it. I guess when the PC version comes out I can tell.

XIII
The soundtrack is about the only thing they did right.

All three are incredible but I went with XIII XV's soundtrack was very unnoticeable in the game because so many songs were presented as fragments. And because most of the music you heard in game was the songs from the older games playing on the radio when you drove around in the car. But if you download and listen to the full songs there's some great stuff in there. Wanderlust is especially beautiful if you listen to it in full right after you finish the main story. XII's is really f***ing good and has a lot of songs I love. It just has a lot that I don't really notice either. It's my favourite game in the series. But XIII's just has more songs I love. It's a smaller soundtrack (the first games anyway, only sixty or seventy songs) and the ratio of songs I love to songs there are is much higher than other games in the series. Final Fantasy is probably my favourite franchise overall and the soundtracks are a big part of it. Cry in Sorrow from IV pretty much ruined me as a kid. I just saw Distant Worlds for a third time this past Saturday.

I always loved the first boss fight theme from XIII, Saber's Edge.

I can't really judge XV because I need to hear the game's soundtrack in context of the game to really appreciate it. I guess when the PC version comes out I can tell. It's soundtrack is actually a little worse in the context of the game. The battle music is presented in full but I found there's so much going on on-screen it was a little hard for me to pay attention to the music. And a lot of the overworld music gets cut-off a lot of the time. The best song in the game (for me) is one called Wanderlust and I never heard more than the first thirty seconds of the song in the game. It wasn't until I downloaded the OST and listened to the whole thing that I was like, "damn, that song is INCREDIBLE". I just found a lot of the music was cut off too much. The game itself was really f***ing good. I was really surprised.

I'd probably give it to 13, though if the whole series were up for it I'd probably go with 4 or 10.
