How is this a good booking decision in any stretch of the imagination? As a side note, I guess Corbin is getting a "squanders his opportunities" gimmick now, and if it's anything like a losing streak gimmick, it's sure to be a sure fire winner.

An accurate representation of the idea of Dolph holding any sort of belt right now :

Corbin wasn't a good champion so it was the better move. I imagine they had to give it to a heel so Ziggler was the best choice out of him or Roode. Sure, Roode could have turned but the problem with that is that he's so over with the crowd that he wouldn't be effective as a heel.

Honestly I think they just wanted a title change somewhere on the card. I probably would have changed the tag belts given how over Rusev and English were. I joked to my brother during that US match "Roode might win the title by pinning Ziggler. Or maybe Corbin retains by pinning Ziggler. If anyone but Ziggler jobs here we've got big problems." And then he wins.

Classic WWE booking:
Step One: have a guy lose a lot, be a complete non-factor
Step Two: give him a title win because "the smarks'll NEVER see that coming!"
Step Three: Uh...um...hope people mark for entrance music?

Rather Ziggler than Corbin, but I wish Roode won.

he's obviously being set up to lose the title to Roode at the rumble..
