I’ve been re-watching old pay-per-views and just noticed something I had never noticed before. Andre’s singlet is...dark blue. I always thought it was black, but when you see it next to other black tights it’s almost definitely dark blue (even compared to his boots).
It’s most evident at Wrestlemania VI against Demolition.

He switched from black to blue sometime in 1989.

He switched from black to blue sometime in 1989. This. Also, on some shows when he first got it, you can see the back brace underneath exposed at times. It got weirder near the end of Andre's career, as he had red and green variants as well. |

The Pop vinyl company (those strange looking large headed toys that are so popular now) made a Andre with blue singlet. I liked that blue singlet. I wonder what color he would wear if he had returned to WWF.

I believe his original one was Black and he had blue later on.
(and by originally I mean that style singlet as before that he wore all sorts a color trunks)

It has always strangely bothered me that his attire in the Fire Pro series is usually dark blue instead of black.

Andre wore blue trunks fairly often before he switched to the singlet.
Maybe they gave him black because he's a bad guy?

I thought it was a nice touch that he wore the same gear Bobby Heenan did when he wrestled, like Bobby had really gotten into his head. I didn't know at the time it was because he needed a brace
