How had is his neck? Could he risk paralysis getting in the ring one more time?
It just seems his last match ever is forgotten for the most part because it wasn't a classic and was so sudden.
But today's landscape?
Edge could take on all these guys in a farewell match:
Finn Balor Samoa Joe Seth Rollins Roman Reigns John Cena Shinsuke Nakamura AJ Styles Kevin Owens Sami Zayn Braun Strowman
Just to name a few.

Maybe. But he probably shouldn't.

If I were him, I wouldn't. Stenosis is no joke. Plus, he's getting more acting roles and such.

I wonder if deep down inside he hated the fact his career ending curtain jerking a WrestleMania against Alberto Del Rio. I always felt if he went out it would be against Cena, Jericho, Christian, Punk, or Orton. Someone he actually cares about or gives him notoriety. Being linked to Del Rio doesn't help. Ask Paige.

I'm not sure if wrestling 10 dudes at once is the most wise decision tbh

How had is his neck? Could he risk paralysis getting in the ring one more time? Yes, that's why WWE told him he was done immediately after he got his neck looked at. It wasn't his choice to retire.

"Curtain Jerking" by retaining the World Heavyweight Title by beating the Royal Rumble winner in a match promoted like a main event. He got a pretty great sendoff all things considered.

Well the doctors told him that if he were to bump again, he would probably die so no.

It's crazy though that in an 8 day span he went from 'a full match with Del Rio at Wrestlemania' to 'get touched again and you maybe get paralyzed or die'.

Is there a present and serious risk that his body is at great risk of catastrophic injury even from properly executed and 'safe' moves? Because if yes, then no, he can't, and he f***ing shouldn't.

Yoshihiro Takayama kept wrestling with the same condition, and now he is paralyzed from the neck down. The answer to your question should be a flat no.

Yoshihiro Takayama kept wrestling with the same condition, and now he is paralyzed from the neck down. The answer to your question should be a flat no. Perro Aguayo Jr. died in the ring because of the same condition, and even though his family asked for his cause of death to remain private, it's widely believed Misawa did too. Tyson Kidd had it and was told that it was a miracle that he was even alive after his neck gave out, much less still has full control over his body. Between this thread and the talk of AJ Lee being in the Rumble, I can't believe how naïve some people are about just how serious cervical neck injuries are. It's not a "take some time off and rehab" situation. The best that can be hoped for is to undergo life-altering surgery that may buy a career a few more years, and Edge already cashed in that particular chip.

It's crazy though that in an 8 day span he went from 'a full match with Del Rio at Wrestlemania' to 'get touched again and you maybe get paralyzed or die'. It was because of the Del Rio match he went to the doctors in the first place as he was feeling numbness in his hands which is a very bad sign.

Since his doctors weren't kidding when they told him retire now or risk paralysis the answer is no.

He could have a crappy Bret Hart return kind of match I'm sure, but nothing anyone would want to see.

From all I'm hearing in this read, Sheamus should probably call it quits soon.

From all I'm hearing in this read, Sheamus should probably call it quits soon. And I expect he will. Since his diagnosis The Bar have dropped the titles, worked a few matches in which Cesaro did most of the work, and Sheamus didn't wrestle on Monday. I figure he's having more extensive tests to work out the extent of the damage before a final decision is made.

I once suggested that Daniel Bryan wrestle one more match after his retirement, and this board crucified me for it. Nope, not doing that again. Keep hosting your podcast and appearing on sci-fi shows, Edge.

The thing with AJ is we don't exactly know how bad her damage is. She may still be in good enough shape for a one-off.
