Saw the question on PWinsider so thought I would ask it here as well. If Vince could do it over again would he still "pass the torch" from Hogan to Warrior?
Now you can debate if the torch ever really did get passed with Warrior not getting the same kind of backing as Hogan but that's a different convo.

Yes because Hogan was leaving to shoot Suburban Commando and he needed someone to headline the house shows until he came back.

Vince is stubborn. Hogan would still have the torch if Vince never had any competition.

I always interpreted the passing of the torch as something Vince wanted because he was sick of placating Hogan endlessly, not something he felt he had to do because his back was too the wall. If he could do it again I think it would absolutely still happen, the follow through would just be handled differently.

Modern Vince would refuse to acknowledge that No Holds Barred flopped and throw everything behind pushing forward with Hogan vs. Zeus.

If Vince knew that Warrior was gonna held him up for money and leave a couple of years later, no way the title change happens.

Modern Vince would refuse to acknowledge that No Holds Barred flopped and throw everything behind pushing forward with Hogan vs. Zeus. Actually during a raw in the 90s Vince joked during commentary that Hulk Hogan promised him to send him back his salary for the movie if No Holds Barred flopped in the box office, Vince then said that he was still waiting for the check.

Warrior had a six-pack. Jinder Mahal has a six-pack and look what happened to him.
Serious note - yes. Hogan was in his late thirties, had a potential movie career and was going to be a father again. It really looked like wrestling's biggest star was going to hang it up. Warrior was a proven draw that on paper could take the reigns, unlike Reigns.

With the benefit of hindsight? Probably not.
But just as a do-over? Yeah I think so. Warrior was over as hell, and having him as the new standard bearer made all sorts of sense on paper.

I still maintain that had the Warrior had a couple of credible heels to go up against, his reign would have worked out just fine

In Hogan's 2002 book, he said the Warrior wasn't a draw. As he said Warrior wasn't the guy.

It's almost impossible to figure, the product is so different, the amount of TV time is different. Hogan would have been getting mixed reactions by Wrestlemania II, people would be chanting for Roddy Piper, and King Kong Bundy would be getting face pops and One more time chants.

In Hogan's 2002 book, he said the Warrior wasn't a draw. As he said Warrior wasn't the guy. Well, of course he's right. It's the same difference to him rejecting that Metallica bassist gig, being offered the role of Randy the Ram, as well as not answering the phone in time for the George Foreman grill, brother!

If modern Vince were booking then we would've seen Warrior's coronation at every WM after Toronto as well.
Wrestlemania 7: A startling new era Dawns as Warrior pins that damn traitor Sgt. Slaughter to regain the WWF Title.
WM8: A new era begins as Warrior bests Ric Flair
WM9: A new WWF generation arrives as Warrior beats Yokozuna in an impromptu title match after Mr Fuji blinds former champion Ultimate Warrior with salt in his eyes, Warrior gives himself blessing to go challenge the new champ

Bret wins two matches in one night and becomes champion. But he's forced to retire due to his recurring knee injury. Despite being cleared to wrestle by many doctors to return, the WWF doctor won't clear him and insists he be the WWF President instead. They then continue to push the Warrior. #ConspiracyTheories
