I’m amazed Ryback hasn’t been on Twitter saying they stole his gimmick.

This. We aren't supposed to like heels. If you hate something they're doing then they're doing their job. Correct. I don’t get trying to put parameters about why you hate something they are doing. Whether it’s creative forcing something or it was of their own accord you hate something they are doing so they are doing their jobs correctly in my opinion Exactly. I feel people make excuses just so they can try to down something. Just so they can say "see if it's not this way then how I feel doesn't matter" but the reality is how you feel is the point. It's like a comedian telling a joke. It doesn't matter if you laughed at the punchline, laughed at the delivery, laughed at the setup, laughed at the comedian's facial expressions, you laughed at the end of the day and that's the point of their job. No Chappelle references please. So, wait, by this logic Jinder Mahal is the greatest heel champion in years. Everyone HATED that. I’m not watching going “gaahh, I hope AJ kicks his ass”, I’m watching thinking “this is clearly an attempt at creating a catchphrase or a chant, and it is ruining the natural chemistry Owens and Zayn have by turning Zayn into a one word spouting gonk, which is a shame because everything they’ve done so far has been great.” There’s surely a difference between that and “ha, you don’t like it? That’s the point!” There's a difference between a great heel and a great wrestler. Jinder was a great heel considering people actually hated him which is hard to do these days especially at that level. He was not a great wrestler nor were his storylines as a whole great. That doesn't take away from the fact that from a heel he's doing his job, he's a heel. Being a heel is about having the audience hate you and having you root for the guys against him which he did. You can dislike everything about him but when it comes to being a heel he had that down. As for Zayn and Owens and your opinion on their catchphase, you can break it down however you want to break it down but at the end of the day you dislike it which is doing it's job. You can blame it on the company trying to get it over but the result's still the same. If you liked it then they'd change it to something else.

I get what you mean, but my point is that I think they don’t WANT you to hate it, they WANT it to get over as a catchphrase that the fans will chant. That’s not classic heel tactics at all, surely? Besides, with this logic Rusev and English have failed 100% at their jobs, because we were supposed to hate Rusev Day and look what happened there. But while that was organic and designed to be annoying but just got over because of how silly it is, this “yup” shit just looks to me like it’s being pushed as some “chant along with Sami” catchphrase.

I don't even get it. I missed the inception. Is it just making fun of Yes? Why Yep? There was a promo a few weeks back where Kevin would ask a question and Sami would (obnoxiously) answer with Yep. The fans picked up on it the next week so WWE has kept it going by having Sami and Kevin promoting the Yep Movement.

That's something that I don't feel because if they wanted to get it over and for us to like it then you'd have faces going against them constantly saying it. It wouldn't be used for heels who are against the company but for faces who are for the company, they'd transfer it over. It's also a situation where it's a clear mockery of what Bryan stood for who's, right now, seen as a face. Maybe if Bryan turns heel then maybe they'd change it to them doing the "Yes Chant" instead but who knows. And yeah Rusev Day aren't heels anymore, they're straight tweeners now and there's a clear difference between the two. Besides that whenever guys get over and whenever people like heels you always have people saying "wow these guys need to turn face now" so it's a cycle. If a heel is great at their job they're hated and if a legit heel is liked people say they need to go face so they're not heels anymore. It never stops.

It's because they still think the yes chant was over rather than Daniel Bryan.

Well, shit, if they're actually going with something the fans were getting over, I can't really complain no matter how much I hate it.

It doesn't bother me because
1. It makes sense to the storyline 2. It feels organic in a company that does almost nothing of the sort 3. It plays perfectly into Owens' sociopathic character 4. Sami gets to be an obnoxious tool even more now.
There's a difference between being heel because you're bad at your job and undeserving of your push ala Jinder, and being a heel because you're going out of your way to be as annoying as possible all the while twisting the story to be the victim (Kevin Owens' M.O). The fact they took Bryan's word, and altered it, fits in perfectly with the narrative they're telling about Bryan being on their side (Ultimately), and at the same time trying to endear themselves to him. On the other hand it furthers to aggravate Shane McMahon and make him doubt Bryan even more.
SDL's main event storyline is actually pretty damned solid. Even having the worst character on SDL (Shane) involved.

It was the catchphrase of Ducky from The Land Before Time. Judith Barsi, the young actress that played the role was murdered by her father. "Yep! Yep! Yep!" is even on her tombstone. This is always in my mind when I see the Yep! segments. I want to believe Zayn and Owens are oblivious about this, but the thing is they are the right age to know that fact.

I might have to start keeping up with SD now.

I actually didn't know about that until a few years ago and I was the perfect age for that movie. I probably wore out my VHS of it. I wouldn't be surprised if they're unaware or the connection just hasn't been made in their minds.

I'm a little disturbed by Sami Zayn always trying to take his shirt off. He did last week and I was perplexed as to why. He's definitely not a drug user but I legit thought he was on ecstasy.
