The Kofi thread got me thinking - would the following work? A top contender kayfabe hurts himself in the ring, is rolled onto a stretcher and wheeled out. Once everyone has seemingly forgotten about him he re-enters the arena and the ring. The only problem I can see with this is how they would re-enter after being "cleared".

Are you saying they would stretcher him out, over the top rope?

That literally was the plan with Roman like two years ago. Only Roman decided to walk out on his own power instead of the stretcher job. But yeah it's been done.

I'm surprised he didn't insist to jog to look even MORE the toughest. If that legit was his call to walk out, he's an idiot.

I believe Meltzer reported that a stretcher was setup and waiting to go down but Roman started walking up on his own. It made the entire thing read like he was supposed to be a chickenshit heel instead of a guy that was "robbed" of his chance at the rumble.

Are you saying they would stretcher him out, over the top rope? Go over the top rope, then get hurt. And I honestly couldn't remember the Roman thing. Shows how little attention I'm paying in the few cases I watch nowadays.

Another thing that kills me about WWE is the fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants rules on these things. At one time, the rule (which makes amazing amounts of sense) is that if you’re not in the ring by the time the next entrant appears, you’re out.
If you’re “removed” from the Rumble without elimination, then you should have to be in the ring by the next time an entrant is announced.
