USA Network: "Gee, I dunno, didn't you fire the last guy we devoted airtime to?" Vince McMahon: "What? Silent Rage? Oh. I punched him and then I never saw him again. Um. I guess we fired him. Kind of." USA Network: "So, you wasted our time?" Vince McMahon: "Huh? Nooo, what? It just didn't work out. Or something. Creative had nothing for him." USA Network: "What does that even mean?" Vince McMahon: "Look, do you want the show or not? We're going to put The Miz on it!" USA Network: "The Miz? Well. Can you put that Daniel Bryan guy on the show too? People seem to like him based on your quarter hour ratings." Vince McMahon: "I don't know what the f*** a Daniel Bryan is. Are you trying to say Triple H?" USA Network: "No. Daniel Bryan. The one your fans are going nuts for." Vince McMahon: "Yeah yeah yeah, sure sure sure. Whatever. Anyway, you're going to love this guy we picked to win this season-" USA Network: "Didn't you say the audience picks the winner?" Vince McMahon: "We're going to call him The Yeti Guy, or something." USA Network: "Alright, whatever. You can have it on like, Tuesdays or something. f***, you're irritating." Vince McMahon: "Wanna hear about the time I made Brisco look at my poop on a stick?" USA Network: "Goodbye Vince."

I thought maybe this was an announcement about another ill-conceived season of Tough Enough.
Don't scare me like that.

Okay but real talk one of the dumbest things WWE does is hand-pick their f***ing winners for Tough Enough and then get mad when the fans pick differently from the people Vince thinks people should like.

I was just thinking today, whether TE2011 or TE2015 was worse? That's not an indictment on Cameron or Mandy Rose or Velveteen Dream, just that both seasons were trainwrecks and not very important to the landscape of WWE in the long run.

Remember Booker, Austin and the rest saying they picked the Silent Rage guy (I legit can't even remember his name) because he had "the It factor" and it was painfully obvious that all that meant was he was tall and had big muscles, and they couldn't think of anything else positive to say about him?
And of course, he turns out to be on the 'roids.

I can't believe that we've gone this far, 30+ years, and nobody has told Vince he's perhaps the worst possible judge of talent in pro-wrestling. Most of his big stars in the 80's were already huge names in rival promotions. In the 90's he didn't so much "pick" talent as "push whoever was left that fans got behind". That worked out GREAT for him, but rather than learn from it, he went back to thinking he was some kinda talent-choosing genius and tried to hand-pick his next big stars. And it never worked. Tough Enough is just some goofy reality/game show. And he can't even let THAT go without micromanaging it into the dirt.

They'd had ol' Silent Rage on a few times before booting him over to Tough Enough. He was so bad that I legit believe he was on Tough Enough to justify them still employing him. Seriously, out of everyone in developmental they could've picked as ringers in the event that they couldn't have that fail beauty queen they hyped win, why pick him and Alicia Fox's much less talented sister? Speaking of said sister, one of the worst tag matches I've ever seen featured her post-TE. It was a disaster. Poor Ivelisse having to be a part of that.

Tough Enough 3 was awesome. They should have ended it there. I actually preferred the NXT route of using guys who have a background, but only one wins. At least you don't have half the cast leaving due to an injury or realizing they don't want to do this.

Dude gets slapped by the boss and catches a Stunner from one of the best ever and who saved the company, and he no sells it all. Just rolls out of the ring and walks off. The balls on this kid! Vince would either boil with rage or think, "Damn, this kid basically just told me to go f*** myself. He grabbed that brass ring!"

And also the problem that you need to take them off TV for years to properly train them, so any momentum they have is gone.
