He's a guy they have high hopes for, but he was debuting a new look and new persona that it doesn't look like he's 100% comfortable with yet. He's young, he's got time to grow into it. Don't we crucify WWE creative for doing this type of thing? There's a big difference for putting a good wrestler in a gimmick and letting him learn to feel it out and putting someone green in a gimmick and letting them try to learn both wrestling and their gimmick at the same time.

Don't we crucify WWE creative for doing this type of thing? NJPW has built up good faith in it They don't just do this for anyone and if he falls off then he will have a long climb back like Goto or not get back at all like YOSHI-HASHI

Don't we crucify WWE creative for doing this type of thing? Here's the difference: New Japan is gonna give him time to actually adjust before declaring him a failure and depushing him. If this was WWE, he'd have already been written off for not getting monster pops in his first big feud, and would be the third member of Breezango.

Right and if he doesn't progress like they hope he would than he falls down the card like others before him but they got high hopes for him. Essentially someone this young and in this position with that talent doesn't come around too often. The last I remember doing this for is for Okada

White v Lethal at Global,Wars was incredible. The kids got it. The switchblade gimmick I think is an attempt to make him less of a young lion blue chipper.

Don't we crucify WWE creative for doing this type of thing? Not really; giving a young guy a chance to grow into a role is pretty much the antithesis of what WWE would do. Beyond that, NJPW has established a pretty strong track record with bringing young guys back from excursion and putting them into a good spot to succeed without doing it heavily at the expense of the rest of the roster. The WK match White had with Tanahashi being a minor letdown for some had a lot to do with him being young and Tanahashi being injured, but that's a big reason why it wasn't booked to be in the semi-main event spot, anyway.

I don't know, people seemed to jump all over Jason Jordan and the company for giving him time to grow into his new role. And he's a good worker like White, as well.

It doesn't help when the new role is super lame, like throwing vegetables at a wandering hobo. It took Mario a couple of games before he could get over with that gimmick.
