Hall and Nash didn't have a lot in the tank left in 2002. Perhaps the best thing they should've done was keep them as an exclusive tag team after Hogan left. This could have given the mid card a nice boost on ppvs.
Outsiders would have plenty of opponents to work with that would be fresh.
Hardyz Dudleyz Billy and Chuck Edge and Christian APA Brothers of Destruction O Haire and Palumbo Goldust and Booker
This would at least help Scott Ha from burning out.

Yeah, I don’t really see Hall and Nash being thrilled about working with ANY of those guys.

Wasn’t one of Scott Hall’s first encounters when he returned to the locker room reportedly meeting Bubba and D-Von for the first time and saying, “love your finish, can’t wait to kick out of it?”

I honestly wish they would've had Outsiders vs. Brothers of Destruction at WM18 instead of what they did.
That frees up Angle to face Mr. Perfect
Hollywood Hulk Hogan faces Austin
Rock faces DDP
While that requires better booking months prior, I think you have a more solid card.

It could be cool to have seen them put over the hardys.

It could be cool to have seen them put over the hardys. They would too. People forget. They had to be on their best behaviour and had no creative control. Plus at SummerSlam you get the dream match. The Outsiders: Scott Hall and Kevin Nash Vs. De-Generation X: Shawn Michaels and Triple H That would draw and put SummerSlam 2002 over the top.

I would’ve had Hall and Nash win the titles from Spike and Tazz after No Way Out instead of Gunn and Palumbo on the following SmackDown. Maybe defend the titles against Kane and Show at WrestleMania X8 with Show turning on Kane and joining the nWo a couple months sooner.

Wrestlemania 18 should have been Stone Cold and Kurt Angle forming an uneasy alliance against The Outsiders.
Austin vs Hall sucked and while Angle vs Kane was okay, it wouldn't be missed.

2002 Hall/Nash vs O'Haire/Palumbo is one of the most miserable sounding matches I've ever heard of.

I actually enjoyed the Austin vs. Hall match. It was pretty short though & the feud wasn’t the best. Austin should have had a bigger match on the show. As you said teaming with Angle against The Outsiders would have been good. I don’t get why Nash didn’t wrestle on the show when he was available to. Just some really bizarre booking decisions.

I don't think it would have helped. Nash was pretty blatantly bummed about no longer having Bischoff to just give him whatever he wanted and Scott Hall wouldnt have lasted very long anyway with his drinking being as bad as it was at the time.

I thought Nash was still injured and Rock already had Hogan, that was why Austin got stuck with Hall? I remember my friends and I feeling like Hall was below him.

I thought they intentionally didn't give Nash a match in case Hall couldn't work.
I think Outsiders vs Dudleyz made sense. Nash and Hall go over.
