You have a really great voice on Twitter, but you've also expressed concerns about the nastier aspects of social media. Where do you stand right now in terms of how you manage your social media presence and how you engage with fans both positive and negative? "I really don't go on Twitter as much as I used to. I feel like as you become more well-known, more and more people have access to you and know who you are. There's a lot of people out there who are just miserable in their own lives I guess and just trying to make other people miserable as well to bring themselves up. There's no shortage of that, that's for sure. It's taken a toll on me in terms of how much I love social media. I don't enjoy it as much. But whenever I do, I get messages from people telling me how my work helps them in their life in the struggles they're going through. That always means the world to me. It will never stop. There's something very special about meeting fans you know you reach with your work. We do this every week, we get into a routine, and as passionate as we may be, it's like any other job in a way. Once you do something long enough, you kind of get used to it. Sometimes we're lucky enough to meet somebody that's really touched by your work, and that always puts things in perspective and is really cool." www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2018/0108/635671/kevin-owens-on-headbutting-vince-mcmahon/

In fairness, his family's been attacked by scumbags several times, so I can understand his disinterest in social media.

So basically, the same reason that I have, aside from the part about being known by a lot of people.

Wasn't his twitter hacked a few months ago? Yes, some people hacked his twitter trying to say he was cheating on his wife.

I wonder to what extent celebrities in general actually enjoy being on social media. Sure, there's plenty of examples where positive interactions occur, but trudging through the garbage has to be exhausting unless you use your accounts purely for promotion.

How exactly is a heel inspiring to people? I mean really, I could see a good guy, but what's inspiring about a character who's a douche? The rebellion? what is it exactly?

I doubt Owens current kayfabe character is too exciting, but fans know everyone’s real story these days, and I am sure Owens being the ultimate “you will never make it in WWE” guy and making it to the top anyway, all on his own terms damn near, inspires a lot of people.

Owens is, by all accounts, like the nicest guy in the world who's just playing a jerk on TV. I don't blame him.

Doesn't even have to be anything inspiring; for some people just being into something is their escape, and if Owens is someone you single out as your favorite then just seeing him wrestle can make someone happier.

I wanna gouge my eyes out with a rusty coat hanger after just 5 minutes on FB/Twitter/Instagram, and I have about 30 friends between all of them.
