Cena AAs him over the ropes he returns under the ropes to lay Cena out causing his elimination, at the Chamber Joe gets passed over for the match instead of Jordan (whose botched interference costs Reigns the IC belt in two weeks and has his heel turn bubbling nicely at the moment) and destroys everyone including Cena when he's on the verge of his record breaking win, eventually someone else walks away with the belt and Cena wants Joe at WM. They own all the footage of their history I think so should make a good build, thinking Joe goes over as Cena is pretty much PT these days

It's been a while for him. I think the key is that Joe is good enough to respond effectively, whereas Reigns made himself look like a complete chump. That was on him, not Cena. |

It's been a while for him. I think the issue is that it's lazy. It's exciting, in the moment, to watch someone get torn down. Especially if that someone is Reigns. But then it's all the same: win or lose, Cena says 'I respect you... but not really.' It gets old. |

Except Reigns could have done the exact same thing, he just wasn’t quick enough! Was Cena supposed to put on kid gloves and take it easy on him so that Roman could look strong in a boring segment? Either you can let people cut loose and see how it goes, or you can script everything and hope for the best. Can’t have it both ways. |

I'm talking about Cena's default promo style. Off the top of my head, his promos to Miz and Styles last year were similarly shooty. With Styles, it was especially annoying because he pulled that crap after AJ beat him clean in the ring. He was also starting to do it with Ambrose on Talking Smack, if not the main show. "You're the worst of the Shield. LOL." Thankfully, they never feuded long enough for any of it to stick. |
