Preferably at least over 2 years ago.
Name some feuds or segments where the company went way beyond your expectations to the point where you were impressed. I'll start.
- Batista/HHH. I didn't expect this feud to be good even as a teen but man Dave looked like a monster and it was the perfect rise. Batista flattened Trips for all his bullshit over the past few years and Big Dave looked like a star. Batista was that dude and what made it better is that Dave beat the hell out of Trips in every match they had.
- The Shield. I didn't expect Shield to get over but I had high hopes but man they start up made 3 main eventers who are the cornerstones of this company now. In a world of former NXT/world champions who are stuck in the midcard, false prophets who face Cena at WM and men who flatout hold the title who never shows up on tv, these 3 men are always at the top and it's been that way since they rose up. Always important. The only problem with them is the fact that Reigns is still pushed above all but shit at least he's pushed in general.
- Punk's 2012 heel turn. When you've got dudes claiming Punk isn't a heel after he cowardly escapes a beating, attacks Rock and even gets onto a face announcer repeatedly you've got gold. It was to the point where Punk had to look like a Neo-Nazi in order to get the point across that he was a heel. The fact it was done in such a way that diehard fans of his followed his agenda was subtly done in a weird sort of "Jesus Punk Era"-like way. He didn't say it but people loved Punk so much that they went along with it and didn't believe it. Then the stuff with The Shield, Cena and hell Ryback, remember this?
Punk killed it. He was on fire until after that Taker match and it was downhill from there.
- New. f***ing. Day. I thought these boys would be done but they somehow made it work and that's due to them taking control themselves. I got nothing to say besides great job from them all. Now they're all far better than they were before including someone like Kofi who was a this peak during that Orton stuff but now he's not giving a f*** and putting on some great work on his own. I still believe his day will come.
- Bryan at WM30. Yeah. It was horrible for months but that one night Bryan beat those 3 dudes and his celebration will be remembered in every WWE package until the company folds. Michael Cole even made the call of his night that night. It was such a great night for Bryan that Cole said that Bryan on that night was more spectacular from a kayfabe perspective than anyone else in WWE history, he put did at the top of the tier list with greats. Either way amazing.
