That's right, it's Wednesday again and that means ONLY one thing... Time for a new episode of NXT! Store your bicycles safely, because this will be the first episode of NXT's stay at the old home of WCW Saturday Night, the Center Stage theatre in Atlanta. Feel free to hold off your viewing of these episodes until 6:05 Saturday evening, if you wish. In the meantime, we're on our way to Takeover: Philadelphia, and NXT stars up and down the roster are jostling for prime placement on the card.

Our featured bout tonight is for the NXT Tag Team Championship, as new champions The Undisputed Era defend the gold against previous champions Sanity in their contractually-obligated rematch. Cole, Fish and O'Reilly have made a lot of enemies since their arrival in NXT, and the multi-national madmen are the longest-running of all of them, ending their last two Takeovers fallen at their feet. Can Young, Wolfe and/or Dain become two-time champions? Or will TUE's dragon duo of Fish and O'Reilly give Sanity another shock to the system?

Speaking of shocks to the system, tonight sees the NXT in-ring debut of former UFC talent Shayna Baszler. The Queen Of Spades made it all the way to the Mae Young Classic final in 2017 with her brutal striking and submission abilities, and don't think that she's still not sour about not winning the whole thing, as Kairi Sane and a couple of hapless Performance Center trainees have found out in recent weeks. Her opponent tonight in singles competition is MYC quarter-finalist Dakota Kai. Can the Kiwi captain of Team Kick get the winning hand? Or will Baszler strike first on her mission to become the ace of NXT's women's division?

To round out tonight's action, we have two singles bouts. Kassius Ohno is up first against rising Mexican cruiserweight Raul Mendoza, while the monsterous Lars Sullivan will be taking on the lightning-quick Man Of The Hour, Lio Rush.

Very good show. NXT TV can get stuck in neutral every now and then. Not saying it's ever bad, just there. Tonight it was back in drive.

I feel like a lot of people give Baszlor a lot of unnecessary hatred, she got over huge as a heel here and just has a great look of "Evil Bastard", especially when she's basically trying to cripple Dakota Kai.

But yeah an hour of amazing development for all of the wrestlers, more than RAW does in 3 and Smackdown in 2...

It probably originated over there, but I'm so used to it as a London/Grime music thing.

I thought that segment was absolutely godawful. Maybe it's the hangover, but I legit nearly turned off NXT because of it. I don't get the appeal of Street Profits at all, they come across like a shitty Crime Time update to me.

I thought this was an absolutely fantastic episode of wrestling television, and only just watched it hence the necropost.

Everyone got more over because of it, and after not being sold on the ROH nWo I am now completely sold. I hate their guts and want to see them get destroyed. The only segment I think could be argue as bad was the Street Profits once, simply because of how overwhelmingly strange it was.

I'm five minutes into this episode and I already hate Shayna Baszler's guts (in a good way).

I hope Ronda Rousey ends up with a similar character, a bully that the rest of the women's roster has to defeat. I think that's the best case scenario for her WWE run. Assuming it doesn't take forever for her to put someone over like Lesnar. Knowing WWE though there would be a female equivalent of Ambrose/Lesnar.
