I definitely approve of this, Leo is awesome, and did great in Django Unchained.

Yeah, I'm excited for this as well. It's sad that the TV adaptations are still the definitive versions of the Manson story, as while other films have been interesting, they've never really captured that whole story as well as the two Made for TV versions of Helter Skelter did. Maybe this film will change that, or at the very least be an interesting take on it.

I definitely approve of this, Leo is awesome, and did great in Django Unchained. Yeah, it's been great to see him develop and evolve as an actor after Romeo & Juliet and Titanic. To go from teen idol to Oscar winner and have some amazing films under your belt - Blood Diamond, Inception, The Departed, The Revenant - is a pretty decent career path.

I'm curious as specifically what periods the film will cover and what aspects of Manson Tarantino and DeCaprio will choose to emphasize.
Railsback definitely killed it as the raving prisoner in the Helter Skelter movie, but there wasn't much of the charismatic cult leader in him:

Tom Cruise working with Tarantino sounds batshit crazy in the good way.

The movie should show the Helter Skelter scenario actually playing out, albeit in a fantasy sequence, because that was some whacked out shit.

Anything that'll remind the world of the horrible crimes commited by his followers that are hoping to be paroled. How I legitemately hate those people.

Samuel L. Jackson is rumored to be in it? Shocking.

Yeah, it's good, but I would put it on the second tier, as it relates to "Manson Movies." It would go on there with the MANSON documentary from 72 and MANSON: MY NAME IS EVIL. I will say that it's the most true as it relates to certain elements of that era (sex/drugs), as well as the brutality of the killings, but the "current era" parts of the movie (even though I get the point of it) seemed kind of tacked on.

The Charlie's Family cut of Van Bebber's film is missing most of the current era stuff. Pretty sure it is the version that was playing festivals in the late 90s.

Leo is probably my favorite actor of all time, and I have a LONG time fascination with serial killers which was sparked by Manson, so I should be excited about this...
...but god damn, I LOATHE Tarantino and his overrated B-movie bullshit.

I can't imagine this being anything other than hot garbage with Tarantino behind it.

Samuel L. Jackson better be getting the Charles Manson role.

Honestly Tarantino seems like a horrible fit for a Manson movie, mostly because I have a very hard time seeing him doing anything but glorifying it.

This sounds like it's going to be like Spike Lee's Summer of Sam.

Where the Manson murders are more things that are just happening within the period QT's story takes place. Apparently, Leo was up for a role in that movie too. And I saw that Summer of Sam was supposed to be about the killings, but victims and their families were concerned that it would glorify Berkowitz, so the script was heavily changed.
