Would Vince still be in charge anyway? Would HHH/Stephanie still have an important role? I think if it’s actually sold they need to get away from the McMahon family entirely since they don’t know what they’re doing at this point. All of them are out of touch, even HHH who actually flat out said wins & losses don’t mean much in an interview. The company needs an entirely fresh perspective at running things with new people, not any of the McMahons anymore who are known to be very petty & hold grudges.

IF Vince ever sells, he's only going to sell it to his family. There aren't other avenues on this, that's the only way he does it, just like he bought out his father.

If Disney bought it, they'd run it like they run Marvel Comics.
"Okay you guys, you keep running it the way you want and if you mess up, we'll come smack you around."

Kevin Dunn will be fired, which immediately means I'll be less dizzy watching WWE matches.

This is what I think too but one can only hope. I just am tired of the way things are being ran with the company. Even if Vince retires, the company won’t get better under a HHH/Stephanie regime since they are very petty & put themselves over at the expense of everyone else. Stephanie doesn’t know anything about what makes a good wrestling show & HHH would hold grudges with guys like Punk & Bret Hart would probably be erased from existence. Things wouldn’t change too much with them in charge.

I feel like WWE has too much baggage for Disney to ever consider them.

Like others have said, I don't see him selling to anyone other than family. (I doubt it'll ever happen, but I've always wondered what it would be like if Shane took control of the company.)

Realistically, is there anyone that's a known entity in wrestling that would be in a position to buy it off of them? I can't see Vince selling to like an investment group or even just a media conglomerate. And also short of some all-enveloping scandal or greener pastures starting their own thing, I can't see Hunter and Steph going anywhere even if Vince sells.

If he sold it to Hunter and Steph (which is likely in the next few years) things would stay almost exactly the same. If he sold it to someone outside they'd probably sell it again like 3-4 years later for less than they got for it.

Does Vince McMahon have a controlling stake in WWE by himself? He can always sell his shares, but does he own 51% of WWE's stock?

I feel like WWE has too much baggage for Disney to ever consider them. What about companies that bought Vegas casinos from the Mafia? They were able to overcome quite a bit of baggage from the previous owners.

Honestly IF he sold it I can see it eventually becoming like what WCW was, the red headed stepchild of the corporate empire.

I'm no expert on how inheritances work, but why would Steph and Hunter buy WWE? When Vince passes, would his majority shares go up for sale? Or be passed along in a will?
I can't wrap my mind around them buying WWE and becoming majority owners, then inheriting 1/3 (Linda, Shane, Steph) of the value, in cash, in a few more years.

For those who think "Whoever buys it will make the company better!", it's more than likely more like WCW when Time Warner took over.
Big Mega-company that doesn't care, and will shut the damn thing down at the first opportunity.

Does Vince McMahon have a controlling stake in WWE by himself? He can always sell his shares, but does he own 51% of WWE's stock? Pretty sure the point of the split between Voting/Non-Voting stock (and that any voting stock sold outside the family instantly converts to non-voting) was done with the specific purpose of preventing hostile takeovers.
