Hello,
I'm going to be starting a small travel website soon. Just want a bit of advice from anybody who has done it before, specifically with hosting?
I'm new to this so I'm going to use wordpress to design it since apparently it's by far the simplest and easiest for beginners.
So looking at various hosting plans, I basically wish to know is it best to host directly via wordpress? Their premium plan offers the ability to monetize it, which is what I intend. Or host through another company such as Host Gator (who seem cheapest and have good reviews and can still use wordpress to design the actual site).
If I host through another site such as Host Gator, does it still allow me to access all the features of premium Wordpress or is it just the bog standard free version I can use?
Cheers

Fasthosts I've used in the past. Have 1 click WordPress install, good customer service.
Let me know if you need help with WordPress, I've used it a lot in the past.
You have complete WordPress with a 3rd party host.

I work as a Wordpress developer, so feel free to send me questions as you go. Can't speak to going through Wordpress.com since I only work with self hosted, but doing self hosted gives you more freedom on plugins you can use. For hosting, I'd recommend Flywheel, which is specifically for Wordpress, is super simple to use, and not too expensive. Pantheon is also great, but costs a little more ($25/month as opposed to flywheel's $14)

I'll check out fasthosts and flywheel. Flywheel been tailored for WordPress definitely makes it a good option.

Hi guys, another question if anyone has recommendations?
Created a domain, website etc and in the process of installing plugins. The site is going to be an article based travel website. Going to keep it blog-type format for now before jumping into things more complex. Basically going to do various travel-based articles (with images included), allow for user comments, the occasional quiz/poll for now.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for plugins?
I've installed some recommended by another site. Yoast SEO, Relevanssi BackWPup, Google Analytics For WordPress, Sumome, Jetpack and W3 Total Cache.
There's so many though, it's way more daunting than I thought. Anyone have any other recommended plugins?
