WWE.com chose to not name the move at all and called it a "Maneuver he's won many high profile matches with before."

Seth must have glue on his foot. He put it on Finn's head and it went upwards before pushing down. Finn trying to get away while Seth followed him to increase the momentum of the stomp. [/kayfabe]

I like how the comic strip combines with your sig. It's as if that cash-in gave rise to Jason Jordan. Wait, wait, I've got this. If Seth Rollins hadn't become WWE Champion, he wouldn't have had to vacate the belt and it likely would have been won by Reigns, meaning both that he wouldn't have been in the Money in the Bank match, potentially altering it to where Sheamus was no longer the winner, and the cash-in in the main event of Survivor Series wouldn't have happened. Without that and the subsequent attempts to end Roman's title reign, climaxing in Triple H taking it in the Rumble, Stephanie most likely would not have received the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award in which case Shane would not have come back, in which case the brand split would not have happened, in which case American Alpha would not have been called up to the main roster at that point. Seth Rollins caused Jason Jordan.

Curb Stomp, Black Out, whatever the hell it's called, I'm glad it's back. Seth has not had the right stuff since. The surprise Pop he got when he did it was AMAZING. Reminded me of the pop when Punk gave Cena a piledriver during their Raw match.

I'd be fine with his frog splash or the curb stomp being his finishers. Both look great and can get a pop out of the crowd.

WWE.com chose to not name the move at all and called it a "Maneuver he's won many high profile matches with before." I can only imagine some of the Black families watching this with their kids always knowing that MLK Day is treated very respectfully-- I would pay money to be a fly on the wall at my little cousin's home yesterday night he's a huge RAW watcher 10 years old. My Aunt Pattie is smart but very sensitive to racist overtones and un-PC behavior with respects to discrimination, and Uncle Leroy is -friggin' a hilarious older wrestling fanatic. I don't know what their reaction would be as a family other than to say it would be hilarious to watch unfold after they renamed the Curb Stomp the Blackout and the adults have both watched American History X before. It had to be ultimately some kind of plan the WWE was aiming for, maybe in the long run, for either or both Seth Rollins or Jason Jordan. The Blackout coming back and being named specifically that, on THAT certain day. There's no way this wasn't planned by someone, but for what?! The thought is kinda maddening... not unlike that 'interesting' pseudo-racial-sensitive language used in the HHH/Booker 'Mania feud. Sometimes RAW especially, seems to do things just to cause a kneejerk fierce reaction with fans. Sometimes-- they also don't seem to well thought out as far as an endgame.

Orrrr maybe it's just something I as a Black dude am maybe overly-sensitive about. But essentially, having the Curb Stomp redebuted on Martin Luther King Day is a questionable move. Having it renamed to specifically the BLACK out on MLK Day... is well you get the gist now I hope. I was blabbering on about my family's reaction to this since they're smarks and would notice the same thing I did.

Oh right, nah it’s wasnt tldr I was just confused and read your post twice and found it hard to understand. I have read that the whole curb stomp thing has racial connotations because of that film American history x and presumably real events. I assumed they changed it to blackout to avoid saying that phrase and instead blackout is obviously meaning unconsciousness or something. I guess the new name could still be a bit iffy, being debuted on that day, but at least Seth didn’t curb stomp a black guy on that day (again).

Irish immigrants are arguably in the same minority group as Black guys tbh haha,
but yeah I felt with that WWE.com blurb it was definitely something somebody had to have planned in advance, then Vince or Dunne or someone realized how much backlash they might get retroactively.

Rollins on Jericho's podcast years ago said he called it The Black Out as he was using it under his old Indy name, Tyler Black.
There was the one week Cole called it The Piece of Mind. Maybe they can go back to that?

They just called it the Blackout because that was it's name when Rollins was in NXT.

wtf this is a new level of reaching It's kinda a conspiracy theory, I grant, but somebody in charge of booking wanted the "shock factor" of the Curb Stomp on MLK Day to be featured in the main event. But make no mistake, I'm a HUGE fan of controversial booking like this, if it were such. I wanted James Ellsworth to do a full-on man-vs-woman run Andy Kaufmann-style but SDLive chickened out on going that far. Evidence to the contrary, if Seth called this years ago already as the Blackout, seems to make the last RAW just a funny coincidence tho
