Dunn must have watched Taken 3 (15 camera cuts in 6 seconds!) This took 15 shots when it should have only Taken 3

The lame camera cuts weren't half as bad as Braun "terrorizing" the production team by throwing their papers around.
Why send him in there if he couldn't actually do anything impressive?

If you were rolling around inside a falling production truck, you'd be hitting random buttons too. It's only by luck that the cameras stayed on the action there and didn't flip to a random shot of Kurt's empty office or something.

Everything about WWE's production style feels like a weird inorganic attempt to emulate what "actual television" is doing without understanding why it's doing, which actually sounds fitting for a show controlled by a man in his 70s and produced by someone who got his education in '84 and has worked on one--and only one--production job his entire career. Funny enough, the holy grail of action series is being able to do highly coreographed and flawlessly executed one-take fight scenes--see the Netflix Marvel shows and their one-a-season hallway fight that serves as one of the season's main setpieces--and that's something wrestlers do every f***ing night and planned to get the story across from every conceivable angle so the audience can see them. WWE has that, and they f*** it up every night with this overproduced nonsense.

Yeah, the entire segment was rendered pointless when Braun wasn't allowed to do anything. And I mean, I'm not expecting them to actually destroy a production truck that's actually broadcasting the show, but they couldn't rustle up a cheap replica and add some silly video effects? Shit, when Austin rode the Zamboni into the arena, he legit cut the audio cables for commentary and ran over lights. Put effort in!

TNA used to do this all the time and it always looks like crap (Angle climbing a turnbuckle got like 8 cuts for instance). I can only assume it's they want to be like how action movies started with the quick cuts... but it almost never looks good. I love how there was a camera on the truck itself for no f***ing reason. Yeah, it's kinda dumb but there's precedence of one being in there in the past.

Speaking of the truck, are the Death Race spikes on the tires really necessary? Sure, there's comfort to be had from knowing you could use the truck in Twisted Metal if they purchase a new one for production, but it seems a bit silly, lol.

My head-canon is that WWE sets up hundreds of cameras in random spots every night because they know how much craziness goes on and they need to document it.

I thought he was going to ram the "production truck" with the tractor portion. Sure, commentary would lie later and say everyone got out safely but we'd all know he straight up murdered them.

Jericho said it best on his last podcast with Omega. In NJPW the camera works towards you, in WWE the performer has to work towards the camera. WWE needs to work the camera to the wrestler. These camera cuts and shakes and zoom in and out are ridiculous. I do have to counter that with one caveat: The camera work on entrances at Wrestle Kingdom 12 was f***ing ass. One caveat to that: I appreciate they made sure Suzuki looked like a serial killer, not that he needs much help on that front.

The constant motion of the camera is honestly one of the primary reasons I don't watch WWE as much as I used to. It's so bad that it's borderline disorienting. They need to not shoot it like an action movie and shoot it like a sport. That's kinda the point of wrestling: it's a real life action movie. They don't need the camera work to enhance it. It's impressive enough on its own. Yep; it works in Lucha Underground, which goes whole-hog in terms of being highly produced and telenovela-esque and has a consistent style, but a company like WWE making a transition to something like that is jarring and likely has the effect of taking a lot of people out of the moment. Consistency in presentation is incredibly important. I like the camera work during the telenovela aspects of LU, but during matches I find te cut aways to the crowd, commentator cam etc can be just as irritating.

I refuse to believe all the people in that 12 million dollar truck (or anyone behind the scenes. Vince. Whoever.) can watch things like that and think it looks good. It's been going on for far too long for it to not be noticed. Obviously the higher ups, probably Vince himself, think it's great, it's what everybody wants. I gave up on WWE years ago because of these camera cuts, it simply made the product unwatchable. I've come back only to find that it's even worse. From their constant no more than 5 second cuts, to the infuriating shaking "oh my god it's absolute chaos" cam, to basically every other production aspect of the show, I'm ready to give it up again. My eyes literally hurt watching shit like this.

My head-canon is that WWE sets up hundreds of cameras in random spots every night because they know how much craziness goes on and they need to document it. Only if Referees sit in the back wearing blindfolds and earplugs until it's time for them to work thier match. Anytime one comes out to contest a ruling means that one of them went rogue and actually paid attention.
