Randomly working through WWF 1994 through the network and it was an interesting year open for many forms of discussion (Hogan jumping to WCW/immediate creation of the "New Generation", Vince's Steroid Trial, Art Donovan etc.)... but the one thing that has jumped out to me is how kind of refreshing it is to see long term booking that also allows the guys in those long term plans to branch off into other programs.
Case in point, Bret Hart's long term storyline with Owen Hart starts at Survivor Series 93 actually, and is truly kicked off at Rumble 94. This runs through Survivor Series 94 (and really until Spring 1997). However, during 1994, Bret is also free to capture the world title from Yokozuna, have a program and very good match with Diesel, a classic match vs. the 123 kid and interweave into other programs, matches etc. Nowadays, its like you're not allowed to touch another person unless they are directly involved in your current program. But this feeling of an entire roster that can interact at anytime is pretty cool.
This thread may quietly die or may spark some discussions. Just wanted to post a thought that has jumped out to me
P.S. Watching the 1994 King of the Ring w/ Art Donovan Commentary and then listening to The Lapsed Fan Podcast (Episode #4) reviewing the show has brought many tears of laughter to me this week. Really just a lot of fun

the Michaels/Diesel split was also a great example of long term booking.

I still have yet to get the WWE Network, but I have actually tuned into the old episodes of Superstars and Wrestling Challenge from that era. From what I have seen, you could have a feud branch out for a few months and it won't get old. Whereas for years now, a feud can get old after a couple of months.
