Simply still awesome. Loved that one night cameo with him. When he stood up, you know shit got real. I wish they could do this with other legends because with Freddie, it felt real dammit.

Both segments of both sides firing themselves up were awesome. The Invasion gets crapped on and rightly so, but the moments like this that are awesome are REALLY awesome.

That and Austin clearing the ring on the Raw before Invasion may have been the best moments of the whole storyline. Well, Rock and Austin's duet was awesome too but in a really strange way.

I loved Heyman's worked shoot on Vince, too.

The Invasion has a lot of bad stuff to it, obviously, but it's got some excellent highlights, to the extent to where WWE could probably spin it as having been better than it was through montages and such.
(Not that they seem inclined to. WWE, outside of some scattered things, seems very content to not talk about the Invasion after like the moment it ended. Hence Austin and Angle turning face and heel, despite that making ZERO logical sense beyond WWE just saying, "moving on" and dropping it.)

I loved it.
I understand WHY they did it, but I wish they'd ix-nayed the Shane and Steph "Just like you, the WWF is about to be DEAD" promo at the end of the night.

I love watching clips of this on YT and reading all the typical comments from idiots about "ZOMG DIS TEH REAL WRESTLIN WWF DA BEST DIS WHEN WAZ GUUD TUPID PGE ERAZ!!1!" shit. There is NOTHING more lazy in like the past twenty years than that. Absolutely nothing comes close. The guy who f***ing saved the company is heel and the guy who tried to kill it is now face. Just unreal levels of awful, lazy writing.

Vince was great.

I was watching one of the hall of fame's the other day, the year Freddie got inducted, and a young Stephanie (i'm guessing late teens?) is sat right next to the podium and is shown clapping and smiling as he's introduced. Kinda weird knowing that little girl will be taunting him less than 10 years later haha.

It was one of the few great moments of a terrible storyline.
And it reminds me of these lines from back in the day:
Gorilla - "You never had a manager!"
Jesse - "I had a manager back in 83, Classy Freddie Blassie"
Gorilla - "And he took your career right down the toilet"
Later...
Gorilla: "Freddie has a lot of class, but it's all low"
lol
