I'm going with the nWo vs. The Rock and Stone Cold. A match you never thought would happen with the 5 biggest names during the Monday Night Wars era. Name-wise this has gotta be the one. It's pretty much the Monday Night War as the main event of Raw. Honorable mentions also for Rock/Austin/Vince vs Taker/HHH/Shane, and DX/Radicalz vs Rock/Cactus Jack/Too Cool. |

I have to second Radicalz v Rock/Cactus/Too Cool, everything about that was perfect. Great action, suprises, returns and all surrounding one of the best feuds of all time (HHH v Cactus Jack) with, I believe from memory, JR at his best.
It's the one match, years later, I just remember getting everyone at school talking, and was the first match I looked up when I got the WWE network (although it wasn't on there)

I have to second Radicalz v Rock/Cactus/Too Cool, everything about that was perfect. Great action, suprises, returns and all surrounding one of the best feuds of all time (HHH v Cactus Jack) with, I believe from memory, JR at his best. It's the one match, years later, I just remember getting everyone at school talking, and was the first match I looked up when I got the WWE network (although it wasn't on there) Does anyone have a date for this match? I do not remember it and have never really heard it talked about, but that sounds fun as hell. |

Thing is, there were no actual stakes involved in some of these. I'll go with Rock vs. Mankind for the WWF title, where Foley won the title. That match was a big time title match with a perfect happy ending and it also came on the same night WCW did the Fingerpoke of Doom. More than any other show or main event that one wrecked WCW.
I honestly can't even remember the NWO vs. Rock/Austin match. And that 10 man tag match was a lot of fun but at the end of the day it didn't mean anything.

I think I'll go Rock and Austin vs. the nWo.
Although I feel like it says a lot about how little big matches on Raw started mattering at a point that nobody's even seen fit to mention them doing the Mania 17 main event for free the night after.

That was the first that came to my mind as well. Huge not only for the names involved in it and the title change but for the key role it played in turning the fortunes of each company. |

Rock Mankind is such a critical point in the Monday nights wars that I'd agree. Bischoff did his usual spoiler but drive viewers over to Raw, many of them who they'd never get back. |

For me personally its Austin/HHH vs Benoit and Jericho. One of my favourite matches of all time and one of the hottest crowds for a tv main event ever.

It often gets talked about for having one of the best crowds in history. It was actually HHH, X-Pac, Benoit, Malenko and Saturn vs Rock, Foley, Rikishi, Scotty and Grandmaster. Plus, it had one of the highest viewership shares in the history of the company. |
