Reason for my title question is...
Having had a PS4 since November 2014, I have only bought 3 games for it, tops in all those years because I found it harder and harder to find games that interest me. Since the news broke that Mega Man 11 will get a release, I decided to buy the Legacy Collections from the PSN Store and have had lots of fun with it.
After finding out that the PSN Store also offers GTA: The Trilogy and certainly looking like the Store has more games that are to my liking, I have toyed with the idea of selling the physical games I have and just going with the content offered by the PSN Network.
While I am pretty certain in my decision, I have to ask: Is it worth having a state of the art console like this and only downloading games instead of using physical games or are there more people like that out there?

Look on the bright side, if you had an X-Box One X, you'd have no media at all.

I have taken to downloading games more just because it's easier to access them instead of changing the disk. When sales come along and I still have the disks, I trade in games to get stuff I might use like Funkos or whatnot. I like having options, I'm weird like that. But I can see why people like having disks on shelves and whatnot.
Like, the only physical game I have for my PS4 at this point is Puyo Puyo Tetris and that's only because licencing in Europe doesn't allow for a digital copy of that to exist on platforms outside the Switch for...reasons.
Strangely, though, I like collecting blu-rays rather than having movies digitally.

In the UK, the prices in the PS store are so much more than going to a shop or Amazon or whatever, it isn't worth it except when the PSN has sales.

I pretty much only download now, only certain games in Taiwan have English language options. Plus I use my UK Account for online purchases so if I get the Taiwanese version, DLC won't be applicable for it.

I download as well. What I want is usually enough space for my system.

I much prefer to have the physical thing, but am not opposed to buying data if it suits me in the moment.
However, I found out one day that I am not allowed to play these games without WiFi. I need their permission to play the games I bought = they're not my games.
I've read up on why I can't do this and It's a nightmare. There's a simple process to unlock it in your settings, but my account is like registered to multiple devices or some kind of stupid shit (despite the fact it isn't) and the only way around that is to petition to them for the the right to reclaim this and supposedly that can take like a year or something ridiculous. That is not acceptable.
Freaking Skynet, man.

I'm the same way and have been since the last few years of the Xbox 360/PS3 Era. Only own about 4 physical PS4 games and the rest are from the various digital sales, stored on an old external hard drive.
Think it's partly because going out to Best Buy or Gamestop is a hassle but mostly due to not caring about having the newest games all the time.

I'm about 50/50 on my Xbox... but pretty much everything but Breath of the Wild is digital on my Switch

I have barely any. Basically everything on the PS4 I download and given it takes up hard drive space regardless, there's no actual benefit to going physical unless it's cheaper.
Though really I've been going mostly digital ever since I got a 3DS.

My PS4’s 1TB and even then, I have a external 2TB hard drive since changing the hard drive to a 2TB seems to be impossible where I live.
