It was a decent idea for a Rumble cameo when both Drew Carey and the WWF were both doing really well at the time. But, in no way did that warrant a Hall of Fame induction, even with the reduced standards for the celebrity wing. What's next, Ben Stiller for talking about Debra's boobs in 99?

I liked it - simply because they didn’t have him eliminate everyone and had him literally run away from Kane. Offering him money was a nice touch too

Something I've always wondered about that: Was Drew supposed to push the Hardy's off the top rope and eliminate them, but missed his cue or something? The whole process of Jeff knocking down Matt and then just kind of falling down after him while Drew just stood there watching seemed really awkward. Plus, the whole bit where he called the Hardy's back to save him from Kane would have been an even better moment if he had just finished eliminating them himself. I can't say for sure what the spot was supposed to be, but I like the idea of Carey doing nothing and then celebrating better than the idea of him having an actual impact on the match with an elimination (or two).

It was fun.
I even liked the logic behind him being there, he was doing something on PPV and wanted advice from Vince, it made total sense.

I didn't care one way or another, it was such a small inconsequential thing and provided a few laughs.

I’d never heard of him then, so I didn’t really care.

I was coming in here to point out that it made no sense at all. If you're going to pick someone's brain about succeeding at PPV, you wouldn't do it during their actual PPV, six days before your own show. You'd call them months earlier. And I'm not sure what Carey could possibly have "learned." He emcees improv skits. This is an alleged sporting event. It'd be like Dave Chappelle calling up Marvel Studios and saying, "Hey, you've done some successful stuff on Netflix, so can you give me some tips for my Netflix comedy special?"

It was fine as a brief comedy moment, but WWE apparently thought it was important enough to give him a HOF place, which is just absurd.
