Watching that opening video package again, they kind of implied CM Punk blew up Vince’s limo.

Well I seem to read the same things on the regular. We'll probably see it a bunch after the Rumble next week, and then following that Mania in a couple of months. I don't know why people are surprised about this anymore. Remember there is life out there beyond the WWE, and it can be pretty nice when you stop caring enough to let it upset you. You hit the nail on the head here and life outside of WWE is pretty darn good right now. But, I am surprised Vince and Co. didn't even try here and give people something, considering the lapsed and casual viewers would be watching. Outside of the opening segment there was nothing. Even something right at the end, like Jake coming out on the old school Raw. Also, I feel for the poor people that paid WAY too much to go to Manhattan Center.

Here’s what I don’t really get: The WWE knew that a ton of casual and/or lapsed fans would be tuning in to the show. It could have been the perfect way to draw those fans in or back, but there really wasn’t anything new or exciting at all that would make anybody tune in next week (or watch the Rumble, for that matter) Really, they needed this show to be separate from the go-home show for the Rumble. Had this been the Monday following the Rumble, you could have started fresh programs to kick off Mania season. That's what baffles me. This show's probably going to be the most viewed WWE's had in years and quite possibly the most they'll ever have from this point on. Why on earth did they phone it in so hard? Go in all guns blazing! Try and hook people! Do new shit that catches attention and makes the new eyes tuning in want to do so again next week! This isn't hard!

Even something right at the end, like Jake coming out on the old school Raw. Also, I feel for the poor people that paid WAY too much to go to Manhattan Center. I don't even know if WWE has the ability to get casual fans to tune in on account of RAW being 3 hours long. On top of that they're so focused on delivering long matches, old names and references, that I don't believe they have the ability to draw any sort of significant number in new fans anymore. As for those who still stick around, there comes a point where you have to realise things aren't changing. If someone doing a job makes the same mistakes over and over again, we stop using their services. We see the same complaints consistently and constantly. These people seem to hate WWE more than the detractors who criticise it for being "fake," or "gay," or what have you. Yet, at least those people know better then to dwell on it every week and passively allow it to upset them.

It just felt so tacky for a lot of it, and the fact that they constantly hit the nostalgia well diluted a lot of it.
-A super overdone APA poker segment that lasted for way too long -A brutal D-X segment that has been done at least 5 times before -"Hey here's some former women who used to work here" -"Hey here's some former GMs who used to work here" -An extremely dumb Bray/Broken Matt match that didn't help a month long build -Overlong matches (the two tag matches in Barclays mostly) even if the Asuka post match thing was brilliant
There were some good moments but just the drowning in boring nostalgia tripe with no attempt at all to sell the Rumble match sucked. Just glad Miz/Roman was good as usual.

RAW is a number to them.

Imagine if Homecoming was just JR getting kicked in the balls? Would anybody have tuned in next week to see that again?

"Alright we've got the Royal Rumble coming up, which has a Women's Rumble on it. We've Trish, McCool, Kelly, Jackie, and Torrie in the building, should we announce that any of them will be in it to drum up more interest? Nope. Trish is also in the same building as the current Raw Women's Champion, who has gotten a lot of comparisons to Trish, should we have them interact? Nope. Should we have any of the women even be at ringside? Nope. We're just going to have them introduced, and that's it.?

Tell us how you really feel. That was actually a great Raw, I thought. Great blend of old and new. I did tell you how I really felt, and if you look at the Rate Poll you'll discover others will also tell you the same thing. I usually disagree with damn near everything you say or are put off by how over the top passionate you are about things I do agree on... But You're spot on tonight. An awful insulting shit show it was.

My biggest concern out of this is that this is the go home show (on the Raw side of things) before the Rumble. This did nothing to really promote the rumble outside of the commercials for it and Asuka's post-match attack. This "special episode" could have been done last week, closer to the actual anniversary of Raw and really push the Rumble this week. We're a society of instant gratification, expecting the casual crowd to remember a big push nearly three weeks prior isn't "best for business".

And to me this was something WWE could have made a really special night and they just fell flat on their faces.

I just want to know why Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle brought Harvey Whippleman out to ringside for protection The only saving grace would be for Angle to be flanked by Bischoff and Godfather and to challenge Brock/Kane/Braun to a shoot fight.
