So FOX just picked up NFL Thursday Night Football, and of course they are quite a few people thnking, that one day in the future WWE could air on FOX but now with the NFL do you still see them picking up WWE? Yea I know its all just interntt rumors about WWE and FOX but if you ran FOX would you pick them up? The NFL is only part of the year but thats still 2 full days takin up during prime time where you could air new shows. But I guess the NFL and WWE would bring in more viewers than regular shows I guess.

I can't see WWE programming airing on regular Fox. It would take precious space away on 2 of the biggest nights of TV. If anything WWE would air on FXX or Fox Sports.

Raw would likely air on FXX, while FS1 would get SmackDown.

Yes. By all accounts FOX is pivoting pretty heavily into live content. It can still work.

Here’s the key thing about moving to FOX that nobody has really considered much yet and it’s kind of a big one; Would WWE be allowed to have Total Divas/Bellas or any other potential show on any FOX network?
Because you have to remember, FOX’ll only have the main channel and the sports ones by 2019 because the rest will be with Disney, including FX and FXX. So in any deal to either buy WWE or give them a TV deal, they’d have to potentially make room for that stuff or have a co-op deal of some kind with E!, essentially making a deal with a rival company. Sure, FOX has done this before with Warner Bros for DC shows but DC has at least money value to it and different things can be done production wise but even then, THAT side of it’ll go to Disney too.
Which is why I think USA doing this “Miz and Mrs” mini series is essentially them going “Hey, we still want you and can do this stuff because we’re cable”. Fox’ll have less free time slots to give in 2019 so they might not be able to accommodate stuff that might not even do well on Network TV.

There's also the other x-factor that the Thursday Football deal has as well: How stubborn is Vince McMahon? (Don't answer that, we know.) With everything we know about Vince, it seems like a mere formality he's going to say "The WWE and the XFL are a package deal- you want WWE, you have to commit to showing XFL games." No network that has NFL games would dare agree to that deal in the risk they lose the NFL.

The only thing I’d say to that is that if FOX wants to buy WWE, all that is redundant because Vince can take his profits from the sale to Alpha to fund the XFL and pitch it as a different entity to another network. If it’s a network deal, yeah, that’d probably be a no go.

We saw this from the last TV contract and the last WWE stock bubble bursting after the USA TV deal was announced- even with the Network, the new TV deal and positive vibes in 2014, WWE stock plummeted, and in retrospect it was because a game of Telephone turned "WWE is meeting with AMC to potentially move their shows to AMC Networks" into "AMC Networks buying WWE is imminent, you guys! Buy WWE stock and get cheap AMC Networks stock!". No fan bought that story in 2014, but Wall Street bought it hook, line, and sinker- and it likely caused the $350 million loss in one day. If no one bought WWE selling then, how come everybody suddenly believes WWE is about to sell now?

The only thing I really remember about the story was that WWE were somewhat trying to put feelers out there to companies, just like they’re doing now with Disney, Facebook etc (allegedly) to get interest the same way and potentially cause something to happen and make USA try something. It probably won’t work but, hey, it almost worked once so if course they’d try it again. The key difference between 2014 and 2018 is the fact Vince came out and said he was open to selling during the XFL conference. Sure, that could be Vince’s bravado talking and him trying to start something and fuel rumours but between him selling his own shares to fund Alpha Entertainment and this coming up not long after, there’s probably a bit of smoke to the fire there since it’s something nobody’s really brought up before. That’s not to say it WILL happen but the chance of it happening is bigger, even if it went up from 0% to 0.1%.
