I'm more-so in the Orton doing it camp. I thought he was going to in 2005.

That's not "wasting" it. They used the streak to make Lesnar a demi-god character. That's what it was used for and it worked. There doesn't always have to be "another rub" after that. Well roman is getting it No, he isn't. This will do NOTHING to change the perception of him. Victories like his over Taker and probably Lesnar mean absolutely nothing when the fans know its for the wrong reasons and hate the guy regardless.

Honestly I still don't think the Streak should have been broken.

Victories like his over Taker and probably Lesnar mean absolutely nothing when the fans know its for the wrong reasons and hate the guy regardless. But that ties to the real issue right now for things like the Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak, or any other big moments: -Some matches, like Taker, like Lesnar, like Goldberg- are big enough matches that the person who SHOULD beat them is the face of the company. -However, in this time period, pro wrestling hasn't caught on there is a noticeable portion of the fanbase who will boo the face of the company, no matter who it is, solely because they are the face of the company. Put those things into play, and this ties into the end of Taker's streak, or beating Lesnar, or beating Goldberg- there IS no right answer, because any person who would get to a point where they could get one of these wins will, inevitably, have been booked to a point where that portion of the fanbase would turn on them.

I actually think Reigns can still "level up" in legitimacy and aura. It's not about fans "accepting" him as we know that won't happen. But he can still get to the level Cena was at at his peak, which I don't think he's at yet.

They're giving these victories to Roman Reigns, someone with way more upsides and positives than a guy like, say, Enzo. And it's been proven throughout wrestling history, it's easier to get a struggling babyface over by making them look great rather than constantly pulling out the rug from him. I'm among those who feel Roman should have went over at Mania 31 and gone on at least a ten month title run. He wouldn't be universally loved, but it would have helped to dilute that "just make him the man and get it over with " feeling many fans have towards him. As for the streak, Brock is one of the greatest monster heels of all time. I still feel he was a good choice to end it.

I'd call the wrong reasons the obvious attempt to force someone to be the face of the company that everyone loves when it hasn't been working for 3 years. Enzo's a false comparison. He was over, but had a limited ceiling at the best of times. They're also not giving it to AJ, Dean Ambrose, Balor, Rollins, Braun or Joe. All more viable alternatives to carry the torch few a few years who have more organic connections to the crowd.
