I actually like the Batman of BVS rather than the one in Justice League. I like Affleck as a tired out, angry, brutal Batman. I really didn't like how Whedon shoved a load of wisecracks in there to lighten the mood. Given that Whedon has come out and said he'd didn't get nor did he really care to learn how to write Captain America (which led to the lamest Cap appearances in the MCU), he probably took the same approach to Batman.

He didn't learn how to write the other 5 Avengers either.

I don't know, I know a lot of Whedon's good will has dried up over time and rightfully so in some cases but I'll give him his due. I thought Cap in Avengers 1 was fine and arguably one of the highlights of the movie, and overall I think Avengers 1 still holds up as a strong entry into the MCU. Avengers 2 your mileage may vary on and it certainly isn't as tight of a movie as Avengers 1.

The “I’m rich” line and the “I hear you talk to fish” I thought were very in line with the character, especially as Bruce, but there were definitely some lines that fell flat. Lots of versions of Batman have shown him to have a very dry, flat sense of humour himself. He just has little to no patience for everyone else’s sense of humour.

I mean the Animated series one joked quite a bit.

Michael Keaton's humour was the best.
Vicki - Can you tell me which of these guys are Bruce Wayne?
Bruce - Well....I'm not really sure.
Later....
Bruce - Hi, I'm Bruce Wayne.

I guess it's stuff like "I don't 'not' like you," which sounds like it would be something that version of The Flash would say rather than Batman.
If "The Batman" movie ends up being an Affleck solo outing, I'd also much rather get a dark, detective story with Deathstroke as the villain, than some kind of Joker and Harley Quinn movie featuring Batman, which is what I bet Warner Bros would LOVE to see.

The only really groan worthy line from Bats to me was the "yeah, definitetly bleeding" or however he put it. Even that wasn't that terrible, just corny and the way they cut back to him was like a sitcom stinger

I liked the movie but that tweet or whatever was just dumb.

Not to be outdone by the man himself, Snyder's fans are also making themselves look stupid.

Jeez people, Move on.
1. the cut is not finished it would not have any of the effects in place. 2. It was a money loser, a parent company isn't going to waste it's time putting out special editions on a movie that bombed. (it need to make like at least 100 million more than it did to be successful... it bombed) 3. if rumors are to be believed multiple people who saw Snyder's cut called it "Unwatchable" which is the real reason Whedon was brought on. (and again how Snyder's basically acted like a massive baby on TWitter post Justice League I fully believe he was fired.) 4. The parts people seem to like the most of Justice League... pretty much everything Superman related... all seem to be Whedon additions.
and I bet if they finally cave to the demand for the Snyder cut... and it's awful they'll claim that what? Marvel fans snuck in and changed it? That the WB execs did it to make him look bad?

I just tried to watch Man of Steel on TV. Man has that movie not held up well for me.
I haven't re-watched it since I saw it in theaters, but that fantastic action in the later part of the movie really made me forget what a chore the beginning of it was.

I haven't re-watched it since I saw it in theaters, but that fantastic action in the later part of the movie really made me forget what a chore the beginning of it was. It's one reason I was kinda annoyed that so many people latched on to the death of Zod... which was handled pretty terribly in it's own right but... there is so much worse before it... They keep trying to hype Zod as a super badass that Clark has no chance of defeating... after we saw Jor-El a scientist kick his ass in 10 minutes. Like literally everything Pa Kent does... (save for one line they completely sabatoged his character... that line is of course the reaction to "I Just want to be your son." "You are my son." exchange) Missing the point on Superman by having him be tutored by Jor El and basically setting it up that he thinks of himself as Kryptonian when that is the opposite of what Superman thinks. Zod's plan is nonsensical at best, and self defeating at worst... and is hyped as an expert strategist throughout the film. Kinda throwing Chekov's gun out the window. By establishing Clark needing to concentrate to hold his powers in check ... then just having Zod figure it out on his own on a mountain top.

I was wondering why this thread got revived and I see why What type of mindset did Snyder get his fans into And how the hell does he have fans he had a few good if really flawed movies... and he's been coasting on that. Followed by the super Hardcore DC can do no wrong fans latching on because he was the mind behind the Cinematic Universe. and obviously Justice League was bad because a new director was brought on... so clearly he ruined it and WB/DC didn't bring him on to try and salvage the problem at the 0 hour. what most of them don't realize is that generally the loudest detractors of the DCEU... tend to actually also be DC Fans... because people that are only Marvel fans? Don't give a shit if DC puts out bad movies.

Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen are good watches Problem is those movies are over 10 years old except Watchmen which is about to be 10 Don't get me wrong dude came out like a bat out of hell with those 3 films to being hits for him right out the door but since then those heights has not been reached
And yea they are hurting themselves at the end of the day with the constant negativity. Though you still have those few who believe Marvel only fans will hate anything DC and people are paid to bad mouth DC

I'm Iffy on Watchmen I liked parts of it but it missed the point of the novel entirely. To the point where I don't think Snyder understood it at all. Which seems like a familiar complaint ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Not that I'm defending Whedon, Avengers 1 was very good but Age of Ultron was like his Revenge of the Fallen: all his tropes taken out of control. CW should have been Avengers 2, IMO. And as I've said before, don't take this as me wanting to see the DCU fail. I think I actually like the DC heroes MORE than Marvel ones for the most part. It helps that as a kid, my first look at superheroes was mostly DC ones except for maybe Spider-Man and the Hulk.
