Re-releasing Deadpool 2 is a dumb move on its own. Barely six months apart on a movie that was pretty mediocre in reception only now PG13? That China Money for you

That China Money for you Which is pretty baffling in its own right, given China has a limit on how many movies can be released there, not everything actually succeeds, and they see a lot less of a cut from the theaters there than they do elsewhere. The whole thing just comes off like them seeing potential for money there when they're really not very likely to actually get it. But then nobody ever accused the movie industry of being forward-thinking.

Re-releasing Deadpool 2 is a dumb move on its own. Barely six months apart on a movie that was pretty mediocre in reception only now PG13? It cost $50 million more to make than the first and took $50 million less at the box office. With Dark Phoenix likely to do a Solo, the chance to make any kind of money from China with Deadpool after it was refused release first time around is a smart, if desperate, move.

Also the last we might see Deadpool for some time Iger has said that Disney will almost certainly keep Fox as their "mature" film division, and he previously stated that Deadpool would be integrated into the MCU. The only real question remains whether Ryan Reynolds will be involved.

I don't see Disney dropping him, and I don't think he'd start refusing to play the character unless they massively lowball him or something

I mean Justice League landed like a wet fart even though I personally thought it was ok. DC may be really dumb, but even they aren't gonna throw more money into a movie that at best got a shrug from most people. Snyder Cut people are delusional Their latest idea is a peach. Because "Marvel" are rereleasing Deadpool 2 at the same time as Aquaman to spite DC, DC should release the Snyder Cut to theatres the same time as Avengers 4 to spite Marvel. Yup, that would end well for them. The Snyder Cut vs the biggest superhero movie ever? Oh yeah, WB wouldn't get crushed at all.

Can't see them passing up Tony and Deadpool cameo at some point just for a 2 min banter of shits and giggles
Reynolds seems to enjoy the creative process so maybe if they are on a tight leash is the one way I see him saying nah i'm good but even then with Marvel track record putting your faith in them isn't really a leap of faith

Really don't see the problem with the PG-13 cut of Deadpool 2? It's not going to magically destroy the R version, and now kids are going to be able to see it without parents getting up in arms over it. It couldn't cost FOX any more money than what it'll take in just domestically.
Also it wasn't as big a hit as the first one, but that's to be expected. Still, using the budget doubled rule, D2 generated over half a billion dollars for the studio- not too shabby at all for an R rated movie.

So Deadpool has taken over a DCEU thread. Snyder can't win, can he?

Maybe it was already mentioned in here. But did anyone see that Snyder confirmed that he had planned for Batman to die in his DCEU universe? Where and how he would've died is conjecture. Now I am wondering how he could've pulled that off? Especially since there wasn't any time to connect with Superman let alone Batman in this universe.

I wouldn't mind seeing a released Snyder cut with unfinished effects and various scenes just to get an idea on if it was truly as unwatchable as they claim.
What we can agree on I believe is that Snyder did bring a unique vision and tone to the universe. I honestly believe if Snyder had a great writer and producer on his hands that can focus on character development, while he focuses on the visual aspect he would literally bean unstoppable force. There's no one in my opinion who has a great eye for visuals than Snyder. He's one of the best when it comes to that. Let Snyder focus on the visuals and action while the writer focuses on the character development.
