Snyder is strange, It's not like he didn't have a strong career before all of this, like regardless of how one felt about his films. He made generally pretty successful films that obviously had their audiences. What about these DC films have given him such a complex to obsess over them like this and linger?
Granted, pandemic and the circumstances of his personal life probably kept him away from really being able to create for a few years, but this is still very much a
situation.

It's funnier to me, because he clearly sees himself as an "auteur", and he probably pissed away his best chance at a (more or less) legitimate auteur project. Remember, before this Snyder Cut bullshit started, there was a lot of talk around him helming The Fountainhead for Warner Bros, and whatever you think about Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead would almost certainly be considered a "serious" project by the Hollywood press. It is really odd that he chose a comic book movie as his hill to die on.

But he is an auteur? I don't know how anyone could say he's not.
Snyder's movies have their own look and feel, for better or for worse, that are exclusively his. He's no less of an auteur than Noah Hawley, Taika Waititi, James Gunn, Joss Whedon, Ryan Coogler, Patty Jenkins, Damon Lindelof, or Greg Berlanti have been with their superhero projects, which still have those creators' voices firmly at the centre of the movies or TV shows.

Honestly the term "auteur" is a pretentious joke to me. Tommy Wiseau and Neil Breen are also auteurs đ

Tommy Wiseau and Neil Breen are also auteurs đ I take the term simply to mean "author," a creator, especially if they are the chief creator, who has an individual, unique point-of-view or style that one sees across a body of work. It doesn't necessarily have to mean anything about high-brow or avant-garde art at all, if that's what you mean when you think the word is pretentious.

For all the shit I give Snyder, his movies are very distinctly his own. You can pick any two movies from his filmography and show them sans credits to somebody who's never seen them before and be pretty confident they'd say they were directed by the same person.

Yeah, there's a lot of things you can say about Snyder's films. "Cookie cutter" and "generic" aren't among them.

Oh f*** off Zack. You kept ignoring your bosses orders. You made your own bed so f***ing sleep in it. WB has nothing to gain to keep promoting this âSnyderverse: Trademark 2017, Zack Snyder Enterprisesâ. Theyâre not your characters, not your property bro. The only damn thing WB needs to promote is their characters. THEIR characters. Not ZACK SNYDER. Those are the headliners...the ticket sellers...the marquee main event... Superman. Batman. Wonder Woman. Flash. Green Lantern. To a degree Cyborg and Martian Manhunter. Those are the only things WB needs to worry about marketing. Not you Zack...you f***ing doofus.

It's like... dude the only halfway watchable version of the movie you made was 4.5 hours. Which as pointed out before, was expressly not what they asked you to make. Of course they're not going to let you play with their characters again. Move on already, everyone else obviously has.

Zack Snyder will never, ever get final cut rights on a sequel (or any other film) after the JL debacle. Stay in your f***ing lane man and make 2 hour zombie movies everyone seems yo enjoy EDIT: If they ever let him do a sequel I would bet every dollar I have that we would see another Snyder Cut debacle

Snyder's that high school jock who's now fat, bald, lives with his parents and works at a wal mart yet still thinks his old girlfriend from twenty years ago will come crawling back to him any day now.
