Hell Universal monsters was a shared universe in the 40s Though that wasn't their intent at first, they just kinda fell into it.

Shared universes have been a thing in comics for a long, long time. The only reason something like the MCU didn't happen even sooner is because film rights for Marvel properties were spread across several competing studios. And despite Warner having a lock on all things DC, they could never get their movies on the same page even though they got shared universes to work at least twice in TV. Warner always gave their producers too much power. There was no reason JLU should have been banned from using Batman or Aquaman characters because of a tv or movie series. The people behind those decisions should have a camera in their face every single day and be forced to explain their convoluted reasoning until they apologize for ever even thinking they should have opened their mouths in the first place. Stupid people like that should be made to feel embarrassed that they got to have input on anything at all.

And Aquaman really didnt have more than 2 good ones so no big loss. It was more what it represented. As long as Warner was going to let their producers fight amongst themselves they would never have a shared universe.

I don't get WHY there needs to be a set universe. My two fav movies are the animated Spider-man movie, and Joker. Neither of them is in any larger universe and both loved by critics. While my least fav comic book movies have all happened in the latest Marvel phase. Being in a universe does not typically relate to better movies Bluntest of terms? Because Marvel has a "set universe", and they made about a bajillion dollars off of it. Same reason Facebook and Instagram wanna be TikTok now. Same reason every cable news channel has a bunch of talking heads yelling at each other in primetime. Because capitalism.

Have... have you seen X-Men Origins Wolverine of Fanfourstic? ETA: To be clear I ask because like, to each their own but I don't think even the worst MCU movies have been worse than these two. As bad as Origins is, at least it has a taste of what Ryan Reynolds would eventually do with Deadpool... Fanfourstic... there's nothing redeeming in that turd. At least Trank didn't throw his lot in with EvS and other ghouls and try to use the worst people on the internet to harass critics and low level studio employees until he got a directors cut for his unwatchable clusterhug.

If those terms are "shadowbanned", they're doing a pretty bad job at it. Which, to be fair, would be par for the course for Twitter under Musk, but still.

lol "shadowbanned."
I don't know what's funnier: that these morons were actually shadowbanned or that it's because of James Gunn somehow being Elon Musk's puppet master.

New year, new bizarre delusion: Apparently this was originally from a Spanish language source and published around December 28th. That time frame is the equivalent of an April Fools Day in Spanish-speaking countries.

one of the replies is "Snyder is busy building the Rebel Moon universe until 2025"
While it's good at least a Snyder fan actually realizes that he's doing another movie... I think it's a bit early to call Rebel Moon anything other than a one off...

There's a consistent trend among Snyderverse types of fans to really like making/reading/believing what basically amounts to fanfic about movie/TV/etc productions

Also, 10 movies in the span of 3 years for a smaller studio and closed off group of creatives is literally impossible. Though since this was apparently a giant prank, that was probably the point.

YEah, 10 movies in 3 years with the kind of effects a Superhero universe requires is a tall order for any studio... before getting into we only have like 3 directors and writers...
