I still say he only shoehorned that in after the fact because he saw the Supergirl TV show do it first (J'onn J'onnz pretending to be hard-ass military guy Hank Henshaw) and thought it was cool. Like, it's entirely speculation on my part, but there's way too many similarities. The "Swanwick is J'onn" theory has been around since before BVS, and given how in touch with his fans Snyder is I don't doubt that they were his inspiration. Hell, there's plenty of "Snyder is the blueprint" types who argue that Supergirl stole the idea from Snyder. Don't forget that Manhunter is literally the person Goyer mentioned as only stupid virgins knew and liked...

Goyer also said Batman versus Superman is where you go when you've run out of ideas, and even went as far as to call it " an admission that this franchise is on its last gasp"... and then went on to direct Batman V Superman.

And unlike Man of Steel, they actually did drop some hints that Henshaw wasn't who he claimed to be (at least as far as not being human) as the first season episodes went on. And then the REAL Hank Henshaw came back in S2 (also played by David Harewood, J'onn's actor) and he was one of Lillian Luthor's top lieutenants in Project Cadmus. Then he got turned into his usual comics alter ego as the Cyborg Superman.

I mean, once you start going down the #SnyderIsTheBlueprint hole on Twitter, you get all sorts of nonsense that just doesn't match up timeline-wise without some sort of industrial espionage conspiracy, including but not limited to: - Geoff Johns leaking Snyder's notes for Justice League and Justice League: Part II to Kevin Feige, which would form the basis for Avengers and Infinity War
- Feige mandating the "last minute change" of Captain America: Serpent Society to Civil War when he found out Snyder was making BVS
- Crisis on Infinite Earth's psychotic Bruce Wayne was a ripoff of BVS Batman
- Iron Man sacrificing himself in Endgame? Wouldn't have happened without Snyder being daring enough to kill off Superman
And then there's the more asinine claims that every big movie, comic book or otherwise, has been ripping off shots from Snyder's movies for the last 15 years.

The date is from April 28-30.
That's a weekend. This is a con of some kind in both meanings of the word.

Let me help you all here because I knew some of you would make a fuss;
This is when stuff for Rebel Moon gets released. It finished filming recently, it's out by the end of the year on Netflix so the first trailer would be about then with the done footage.
Acting like it's anything else is illogical of the highest order.

Ah so he's just being a douche with the Darkseid stuff if it's just Rebel Moon.

Ah so he's just being a douche with the Darkseid stuff if it's just Rebel Moon. Like, I'm sorry, moons are circles, the thing in the middle is a globe and everything around it looks like sci-fi technobabble so...it's Rebel Moon. If Netflix announce some kind of early year Tudum event by then, it just makes me more correct.

Oh I believe ya, it's just shitty of him to stoke the cult by directly referring to Darkseid knowing they'll run w it.

Oh, completely agreed but even then, having no context of some of that, I just went "Oh, Netflix is having an event then and leading it with Rebel Moon and, I don't know, Millie Bobbie Brown talking about Stranger Things V and that other thing she's doing or whatever".

Of course, it's so simple, if Zack retcons Rebel Moon into being a DC Movie, he can trick his followers into thinking his universe is already owned by Netflix...

Yeah, didn't think it WAS anything JL, just that I knew bringing up Darkseid would inflame his fans into thinking it was JL. I fully believed it was Rebel Moon stuff but now his Snyderverse fans are going to be insufferable until the Rebel Moon information comes out. BECAUSE we KNOW it's going to be people thinking it's JL on Netflix announcement.

I wish WB could send him a C&D letter for using the Darkseid name.

Acting like it's anything else is illogical of the highest order. While a poor source for just about everything else, Grace Randolph has a great record with Snyder stuff and Snyder himself has vouched for her several times.
