I've always found it wierd over the last few years when more and more online betting sites started displaying odds and allowing bets on WWE PPV's.
Couldn't members of the company's backstage staff be involved in betting scandals once they are aware of the outcomes prior to the event starting. What's stopping Vince McMahon telling a close friend or family member to stake a million dollar bet on the main event of a PPV ?
Has there been any reported betting scandals through the years?
Do you guys bet on any of the Ppvs?
Seems like a really good way to earn some money especially when most of the PPV's are predictable as hell.

f*** no. Don't do it.
WWE is the one company where they'll f*** over simple booking just to get one on those betting sites. They peep them all and as long as they surprise people, that's all that matters. It's suicide for your wallet following em.

There is no such thing as easy money when gambling.

I didn’t know people actually bet on WWE cards. It would be my luck if I bet on a seemingly sure thing like Cena winning a world championship I’d lose...lol. I’ll leave the WWE betting to someone else.

I was surprised to find out last year, that there are betting pools for the Royal Rumble.

I don’t (I hate gambling) but my wife bets on some of the major PPV’s. She says it makes it more fun. Whatever does it for you, I guess.

I remember looking at betting odds for WM 30 while speculating on the match outcomes, and thinking that if I would have bet $50 on Brock Lesnar to break the streak, I would have won somewhere in the neighborhood of $75,000.
It's not easy carrying around that kind of regret.

It's not easy carrying around that kind of regret. I've never seen those sort of odds anywhere for wrestling, even for things which are never going to happen like Vin Diesel winning the Royal Rumble. I'm guessing you saw the odds listed as +1500, but that means you get $1500 for every $100 staked. I always look a few days before (don't want spoilers once the smart money comes in), but only ever had two bets, Stephanie to win the Royal Rumble this year, and Zack Ryder to win the ladder match at Wrestlemania (there was no reason to put him in the match if he wasn't going to win). He was 10/1 (+1000), won £50.

I remember Summerslam 2017 being notorious for this.

Re: betting scandals; Betting companies will close the bet and repay the customers if there's an unusually large bet being made, or other strange betting patterns, eg, suddenly there're many bets being made on a particular outcome.

Just once. I had a bunch of my friends over for a WrestleMania when I was in high school. We all made our picks and everyone pitched in five bucks. It was winner take all. Fortunately I won and it covered the price of the PPV. I suggested doing it again but no one wanted to. Haha.

No bookie in the world would take a million dollar bet on a catagory such as pro wrestling. When I used to bet on 5Dimes, most bets were capped at $50 I think, so it’s only worth your while if you parlay the entire card.

It's not easy carrying around that kind of regret. It will be now, because there is no way a +150000 line would exist in any sport, let alone pro wrestling.

I used to, it was quite lucrative when they started but they've got better at setting the odds and banned multiples. f*** no. Don't do it. WWE is the one company where they'll f*** over simple booking just to get one on those betting sites. They peep them all and as long as they surprise people, that's all that matters. It's suicide for your wallet following em. Nah that's how you make money, they do some silly long odds that actually come in fairly regulary thanks to those weird results and screwy finishes. I still make the odd bet like that, not every month now but just when it makes sense, Charlotte winning at WM has paid for my network subscription so far this year and Jinder made me some money last year. (I voted all the time as it was closest)

I have a bet on a few matches every PPV. It makes things far more interesting. For example the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Wrestlemania a few weeks ago was one of the most excited I've been whilst watching a match...because I had a bet on Ziggler to win at 20-1.

This was actually mentioned in a thread relatively recently on here, but as pointed out at the time, people bet on the outcomes of fictional works all the time, or on things that are in no way based on chance like election results and shit. Wrestling is really not unprecedented as something to gamble on.
