Oh, I'm only now seeing that Red Skull was played by Ross Marquand. Awesome for Walking Dead fans. Alright, so who's left? Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, War Machine, Okoye, Nebula, Rocket, M'Baku and Captain Marvel. Unconfirmed but likely Hawkeye and Ant-Man. Hawkeye and Ant-Man are confirmed. I've got a metric buttload of Avengers 4 stuff to start up a new thread for (since earlier mentions of it have resulted in people complaining about spoilers), but was going to hold off making for the weekend, unless the mods are happy for me to create it now? Nothing against the rules about starting a movie thread a year in advance. Plus, people are probably itching to discuss Avengers 4 after seeing Infinity War, so give them a thread. Just make sure to mark spoilers appropriately.

Ok, since nobody else will say it; shouldn’t a dwarf, I don’t know, NOT be a giant? Other than that, loved it Actually thought it was kinda neat. Can't see Dinklage doin it if he had an issue with it.

Sorry if this has been asked, but Valkyrie is sort of MIA isn't she? If we're assuming this started right at the stinger of Ragnarok, she'd still be on the Asgardian Ark I'd imagine. Did they have a similarly dressed body laying around or anything?

Did they have a similarly dressed body laying around or anything? Thor says Thanos only wiped out half of the survivors on the ark. I'd presume that he ordered her and Korg to lead them to safety on Grandmaster's orgy ship and/or escape pods.

More so than any Marvel movie before it, I have been reflecting on this all day. It may well be the first movie I go back to see again at the cinema since The Force Awakens.
It's a movie that if you didn't watch the previous films could be confusing and definitely lacking emotion. But this shows the success Marvel have had. This wasn't a fresh chapter in a new book. This was a later chapter in one, complete piece of work. It's utterly remarkable and nothing on this scale has been done before.

I absolutely loved it.
I would love all the tv shows and movies for the next year to tie into the snap.
AoS breaks the timeloop and saves Couson only for half the team to disappear.
Luke Cage, Cloak & Dagger, Daredevil, and The Runaways should end their next seasons with it too. Though Sheild would be hard as their next season (if they have one) starts in September.
Antman & Wasp needs to end with it too, and if Venom is going to be losely related like the tv shows, that too. I want the snap to tear this entire universe apart.

With any luck, the fingersnap eliminated The Hand. I never want to see them again.

Saw it yesterday morning, and all I can say is damn. Just...damn. The whole thing just starts hard and heavy with Thanos ransacking the ship the Asgardians were all on at the end of Ragnarok. I expected to see at least a scene of Thanos entering the ship, but no - first thing you see are Asgardian bodies lying on the floor, Thanos crushing Thor's head, Loki held captive being questioned on the whereabouts of the Tesseract, with Thor being unaware that Loki took it before Asgard was destroyed.
You have a hammerless Thor, no match for Thanos in combat, completely crushes Hulk to the point that Hulk is so afraid of what Thanos was able to do to him, and the beat down he gave him, that he wouldn't come out when Banner wanted to change.
I was so glad to see that after Thor got Stormbreaker, that we got some of the true God power when he was battling the Outriders on Wakanda. In fact, Thor's arrival on Wakanda as a last minute save when all hope is lost, as Silvestri's classic Avengers theme is playing gave me goosebumps. We also hear the Avengers theme when a shadowed Steve Rogers catches Proxima Midnight's spear, and he, Falcon and Widow join the fight in Scotland to protect Vision and Wanda.
I liked that Ross was back briefly in video form, even if it was just Cap telling him that he wasn't asking Ross' permission to stop Thanos.
Thor to Cap: "Oh...this is Groot" Groot: "I am Groot" Cap: "I am Steve Rogers"
The above exchange had me laughing pretty hard.
My boy Rocket and his exchange with Bucky was hilarious too - "How much for the arm? I will get that arm"
Gamora knowing the location of the Soul Stone was a surprise. As was the Red Skull being on the planet it was located on.
I'm hoping Thor sticks around for a while, it would be sad to see him go now he has a new hammer, new eye, new friends.
When Strange said he went forward in time to see all possible outcomes of how they could stop Thanos, I thought he'd at least tell Tony and the guys what that one plan that worked actually was, but maybe if he did, the first part wouldn't have worked. Obviously Tony staying alive is the key to what Strange saw working.
I did find Quill trying to act just as badass as Thor to the point of copying his accent and deepening his voice hilarious.
All in all, walking out of that theatre screen, literally everyone was silent. Usually you'd get a few people laughing on the way out, discussing their favourite scenes - this time? Silence. It weighed that heavily on them. It felt like leaving a church and following the pallbearers at a funeral.

Just a thought...in Thor Ragnarok, Hela knocked over the Gauntlet in Odin’s Collection saying it was a fake. Thanos had Eitri forge him a gauntlet to harness the power of the stones.
So...where’s the real Infinity Gauntlet?

Yeah, I think a big part of the tension in Avengers 4 will be that the one guy who knows how they can win is dead, and that an essential part of it is he couldn't tell them.

I'm surprised Stark didn't get it - Strange wouldn't have just handed the Time Stone over just like that, when he previously told Stark (before visiting 14 million versions of the future) that protecting the Stone was more important than protecting him and Spidey. He clearly saw that for the Avengers to win the war, that Thanos needed to win the battle.

That was a magnificently bleak ending, and probably the best of any Marvel flick. What a damn movie.

A thought:
If Infinity War is about tragedy, I think Avengers 4 will be all about triumph.
