Can anyone help me understand that scene after the snap involving Thanos and young Gamora? Was that basically his conscious or something? Also, let's discuss the Soul Stone reveal. Going in, everyone assumed we wouldn't learn its location until the movie and the original theory was that it would be on Wakanda. In the end, it just happened to be on another random planet. Granted, the execution was awesome with Gamora's death and the Red Skull cameo. But what do you all think about the final reveal? I just think it could've had more weight if it was the absolute last stone that Thanos got. Basically, Gamora's death also allowed Thanos to complete his quest. But that would've affected the rest of the plot and sequence of events. Also, kudos for Marvel for CGI'ing out the rest of the stones in the trailer. It was speculated that Marvel was pulling a Thor's eye and hiding things in the trailers. But we now know that the gauntlet was mostly complete by the time we got this moment: ![](https://i.imgur.com/y9EeIH7.jpg)

But that would've affected the rest of the plot and sequence of events. I actually think the Soul Stone reveal was the thing that changed Thanos for the “better” and made him think more about his “mission” and intentions than he would have without it. In the first part, he was happy to kill those who stood in his way without much thought. Loki, The Collector, the Asguardians, the other forgers. Then the moment he had to get rid of the one thing he truly loved, Gamora, he realised that the only way he was going to truly get what he wanted was to get those around him out of the way and let his final actions sort the universe out. He was only about to kill Tony because of how much he had affected him 6 years ago. Nobody else died before the finger snapped when pre Soul Stone Thanos would have willingly killed to help the quota. That’s just me, though. Tl; dr: Thanos never understood loss before he had to kill Gamora to get what he wanted. From then on, he had to hold back to accomplish his mission.

I fee dumb for not understanding, who was thanos crying for ? The fact he had to kill Gamora to get what he wanted. Especially since Gamora was his favourite and saw something in her he didn’t see in Nebula. He essentially hoped she would be at his side when he won.

That tear is what separates Thanos from most other villains.

That tear is what separates Thanos from most other villains. That made it so much heart wrenching for me because it wasn’t going to be quick. They took their time with it and made it work.

Most likely it’s Gamora’s soul and Thanos paid it a visit after succeeding.

Really enjoyed the movie, but why focus on joy when we can be negative! There were one or two things that bugged me.
Vision getting severely nerfed while Cap and Widow got huge boosts. Vision was pretty much the strongest member of the team, but he just got beaten down by whatever villain wanted to beat him down, pretty effortlessly. Meanwhile, standard human Black Widow is able to go toe to toe with these threats?
Gamora succumbing to upper arm attack and just being a prop. They keep talking about how she is the ulimate assassin warrior, but she was about as useful as late stage Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat movie.
And then fanfic-ish... I really wanted Cap to wield Mjolnir. But... that thing seems to be permabroke.

I know a ton of fans are pissed about Loki dying but even being a Loki fangirl I'm oddly at peace with it? "We have a Hulk" got cheers and "I am Loki, Prince of Asgard, Rightful King of Jotenhiem, God of Mischief, Odinson" and he just looks at Thor. That's when I knew he wasn't gonna make it but damnit it felt like coming full circle with him finally accepting everything he is. Loki's arc feels complete. I won't complain if they bring him back but yeah his story feels done. Honestly, I want that magnificent bastard back because for me Thor doesn't work without Loki (and since Hemsworth now wants to stick around for more, I'd love a straight up Sons of Odin movie), but if that's all she wrote, it's a fitting way for him to go out. After his interaction with Rocket.... I want to see Thor in GOTG 3. I loved Thor with the Guardians.

Avengers 4 is primarily going to be time travel based and we've seen leaked set photos of Ant-Man at the Battle of New York with Stark. There's still a chance Cap can and will wield Mjolnir. I am actually glad they didn't have him do it in this film.

The last movie totally changed his image and character (for the better).

Whoever mentioned Gamora in the soul stone causing disharmony with the rest of the gauntlet like Adam Warlock did, that's a really good idea and some variant of that will work well. Good catch if that comes to fruition

Good catch if that comes to fruition It also can factor in why Thanos didn’t just kill everyone he faced against before he got the Mind Stone, too.

Oh, I'm only now seeing that Red Skull was played by Ross Marquand. Awesome for Walking Dead fans.
Alright, so who's left? Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, War Machine, Okoye, Nebula, Rocket, M'Baku and Captain Marvel. Unconfirmed but likely Hawkeye and Ant-Man.

I've got a metric buttload of Avengers 4 stuff to start up a new thread for (since earlier mentions of it have resulted in people complaining about spoilers), but was going to hold off making for the weekend, unless the mods are happy for me to create it now?

Ok, since nobody else will say it; shouldn’t a dwarf, I don’t know, NOT be a giant? Other than that, loved it
