So... who gets the final blow in Avengers 4? Captain Marvel? Hulk? Iron Man? To me it feels a lot like they're positioning Thor as the new headliner.

Okoye’s line about Scarlet Witch not being involved in the battle was one of the best lines of the night. ? It got one of the biggest laughs in my screening. That and the “Why’s Gamora?” line.

Actually gonna add to one of my thoughts just now.
I remember reading Kevin Smith's review of Revenge of the Sith way back in 2005 and I never forgot a specific observation: "This is the Emperor's movie!." In the same reard, Infinity Gauntlet is Thanos' movie and This film was made directly for him and he was the true star. He had the biggest presence and stood out for all the right reasons.
All that said, I'd have to list the following characters as being the biggest players behind Thanos:
Iron Man, Thor and Gamora are the big three.
A notch behind them are Scarlet Witch and Vision.
Major secondary characters were Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Hulk and Star-Lord (and maybe Rocket).
Everyone else (including Captain America and Black Panther) was just a supporting character.

Someone remind me when we got Gamora's conversation with Nebula about the soul stone's location. Did that happen in GotGV2? It didn't. Presumably it happened at some point in the four years between GOTGv2 and IW. So... who gets the final blow in Avengers 4? Captain Marvel? Hulk? Iron Man? To me it feels a lot like they're positioning Thor as the new headliner. It would make sense. Hemsworth has said Ragnarok reinvigorated his interest in continuing the role as long as he's allowed to incorporate more levity into his performances. RDJ's done with headlining, Evans is done period, Hulk belongs to Universal, and Hawkeye is the red-headed stepchild of the team. That leaves Thor and Widow as the only two of the original five who can realistically be expected to continue having solo movies as a link between the old Avengers and the New.

So... who gets the final blow in Avengers 4? Captain Marvel? Hulk? Iron Man? I feel like Stark will survive , and finally retire He either retires or dies and pulls a comic related twist and becomes AI to lead a future Iron Man. (RiRi? Doom? Rhodes?) Cap possibly lands the final blow sacrificing himself to take Thanos out. Also apparently Disney wants Marvel to start making the One-Shots again...but Marvel is claiming they’re too busy to yet. What a load of crap. There’s so much potential here to make One-Shots that feature lesser movie characters or the TV characters or hell...do a mini crossover. Use Agent Carter again...show us how Red Skull ended up where he is...Hulk meeting Grandmaster...AoS vs some lesser Marvel villain...Spider-Man meets and ends up teaming with Daredevil...anything.

I'm so jealous of a bunch of you. My theater was dead. I went to the opening night midnight screening, so people were hanging from the rafters, to steal a phrase. Followed it up with the first evening screening so the majority of those people were probably seeing it for the first time too. I think they managed to get an almost perfect balance with the levity this time. The only time I felt it ever really undercut anything was Drax's "I'm invisible" bit after Quill promised to kill Gamora.

While we’re on that bit, and to not make all the posts I make IW positive, that Gamora kiss to Peter felt REALLY unearned considering the others Guardians movies. A hug would have been better.

I dunno. Keep in mind four years have passed since GOTGv2, where it was made quite plain there was some mutual feelings between Gamora and Quill. If they'd had just hugged or otherwise been platonic I'd have gone "Oh come on, how have you not acted on those feelings by now?"

In hindsight it makes the choice of setting the GOTG movies just a few months apart a strange one, because having a big character development like that happen offscreen seems counterproductive. The only logical reason I can think of is they just had to have Baby Groot.

If this all ends with the illuminati being formed with the inclusion of ff and xmen coming back, I'm done with movies period as my fAnboy dreams woukd have comw to fruition. Cuz this part 1 was lit, and so many plot points going forward: {Spoiler} Ghost Vision?? Liked the way they might attempt to get around the all white comic look
Shuri as Black Panther?? Wakanda NEEDS one, though it seems Man Ape was being primed for the spot
The rest of the sorcerers FINALLY stepping in?? I'm sure Mordo will have some ads whuppins to deliver The classic lineup?? Cap, Thor, Hulk, tony,Ultimates 3 Hawkeye, ANTMAN AND WASP
Will Rocket be calling on the OG Sly Stallone Guardians now?? That's a safe bet with the star power they randomly gave them lol
Will hulk finally merge with Bruce to become The Professor?? Cuz Hulk is shaken up from basically being outclassed in boxing terms, while Bruce got a win on his own.
And finally... will Thor ever wash his brown eye?? Lol
