All your favorite heroes are dead, but you still have Hawkeye.
You all still have Hawkeye!

Saw it again a second time yesterday. Laughed at stuff I forgot about the first viewing:
Quill: "Is Footloose still the greatest movie known to man?" Parker: "It never was"
Missed opportunity for Quill to ask more about what was happening on Earth since he'd been gone. The language of Groot being taught at Asgardian schools was a nice touch to explain how Thor knew what Groot was saying.
Mantis: "The Avengers?" Thor: "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" Mantis: "Like Kevin Bacon?" Thor: "I don't know, he could be on the team now. It's been a while since I was there."
I think one of the most interesting parts going forward for me is, Rocket is now stuck on Earth. Well, I guess not really stuck since Thor's new hammer has Bifrost transporting capabilities.
Another moment I laughed at:
Quill: Well, it's not a competition or anything, but I had to kill my father - which is probably worse than killing a sister"
Quill and his ego trying to make himself sound as badass as Thor was brilliant.

Rocket made super gun capable of destroying a moon from bits and pieces laying around the Milano. He'd probably be able to turn a Wakandan dump truck into an interstellar spaceship in an afternoon.

I'd have loved Weaving back as Skull, but this showed that you don't need him at all. Actor they got did a fine job.

Thinking about the movie some more. It's ballsy as hell to eliminate two of your biggest stars in Spidey and Panther. Part 2 will make their returns more meaningful, establish bigger stakes in their later movies and give other characters like Okoye, M'Baku, and Ned some shine. Impressive

So is the Adam Warlock stuff gonna be paid off in Captain Marvel? It's set 20+ years before GOTGv2, so don't hold your breath. Hell, James Gunn isn't even sure if Adam Warlock will even be part of GOTGv3.

Something else that just occurred to me. A few months back it was reported that only Benedict Cumberbatch had seen the whole script, which turned out to just be an in-joke referencing Strange looking into the future.

Thanos didn't just destroy the universe when he snapped his fingers. He also destroyed the box office as well.
630 Million Worldwide in a mere three days

Saw it yesterday. Most walked out of the theater grumbling about all the deaths and cliffhanger ending, but I was actually chuckling and outright said aloud “Don’t worry, they’ll all meet again in Infinity War 2-The Search For More Monry!” I was marveling at the greatness that was that ending sequence.

How many people popped like it was Stone Cold running in to save The Rock at Backlash 2000 when Captain Marvel's symbol appeared in the post-credits?

Thanos didn't just destroy the universe when he snapped his fingers. He also destroyed the box office as well. 630 Million Worldwide in a mere three days Sweet Jesus. Even if it has a huge second weekend drop off this thing's gonna do a billion worldwide in just two weekends. It's also taken just $27 million less in three days than Justice League took in 119 days. Ouch, Zack Synder, ouch. How many people popped like it was Stone Cold running in to save The Rock at Backlash 2000 when Captain Marvel's symbol appeared in the post-credits? In both screenings I went to... nobody. Lots of "Wait, what?" reactions.

Avengers 4 is gonna surpass this big time. MAYBE... we will see when we get there. And if The Deal is finalized.

The idea that in a single weekend Infinity War could top the entire domestic run of Justice League just goes to show how completely hopelessly outclassed the DCEU is right now.

MCU is Braun Strowman
DCEU is Roman Reigns (the fact that the guy who plays Aquaman looks like a Roman Reigns body-double notwithstanding)
