I’m about to send Marvel my bank account number.
That’s how much I enjoyed this.
You guys may know that for a LONG time I had Thanos as my avatar/sig on here previously as I am a HUGE fan of not only the character but of Marvel Cosmic in general. I loved everything about this movie and I’d be retreading ground you guys already covered so instead I want to touch on a few things:
Marvel did some crazy misdirection with their trailer. It wasn’t just obfuscating the stones on the Gauntlet but digitally inserting Hulk where he never was! Additionally I remember there being leaked set photos of Hawkeye as Ronin and unless they were for Part 4 they just did that to mess with us! I also remember ( Weren’t there photos of Hawkeye in some magazine too leading up to this?) I also remember hearing about a cast list having some unknown actor playing Silver Surfer. It wasn’t on IMDb though so that might have been fake.
A thought occurred that me after thinking about all this misdirection. What if what he saw in the trailer WASN’T misdirection. What if it was showing footage of an time re-wound or altered battle that takes place in part 4 after using the time stone? Could Marvel be so clever?

So it made more money in a little more than 3 days than Justice League did in its entire run.
Remember when the DCU tried saying your move Marvel? I think Marvel's move was checkmate.

The idea that in a single weekend Infinity War could top the entire domestic run of Justice League just goes to show how completely hopelessly outclassed the DCEU is right now. DC have got major damage control to do. In any other reality Justice League vs. Avengers should be a titanic box office battle. In this one it's been a literal squash match.

It's possible they could re-do the Battle of Wakanda in A4, but if they did I would expect everybody to be there and we finally get Cap calling the team to assemble.

Saw it yesterday. Most walked out of the theater grumbling about all the deaths and cliffhanger ending, but I was actually chuckling and outright said aloud “Don’t worry, they’ll all meet again in Infinity War 2-The Search For More Monry!” I was marveling at the greatness that was that ending sequence. As has been said, the way the Avengers watch what is happening with both shock and resignation, and the way Peter Parker pleads with Tony Stark as he vanishes into nothingness, reflecting the youth and inexperience of the character were all perfectly done. I dare suggest comparing to how many people in Japan probably reacted to the atomic bombs-just shocked into complete numbness by such an event. The way Thanos kind of slumps down after, as if he thinks its all over and his work is done, also added to it. That said, I think the could have done a better job teasing what is to come-as in Captain Marvel.

Was checking Box Office Mojo. Remember when there was all that drama about WB execs being pissed that Ragnarok beat the hell out of Justice League? Doctor Strange ended up outgrossing Justice League. That's just...that's time to pack it in.

The way Brolin performed that final moment, and the character in general, added a sense of gravity to his goals.

Yea as I said before and I’m sure many people have said in this thread Brolin performance was phenomenal in this and you actually felt could see where he was coming from and almost felt sorry for him when he rationalized he had to eliminate his heart(Gamora) to get what he wants. When he sat down with that look of satisfaction of a job well done it set in that oh shit it’s over feeling. I also liked that despite being a tank, he can be hurt as they showed multiple times throughout the film but his own will made him continue at points

Something else that just occurred to me. A few months back it was reported that only Benedict Cumberbatch had seen the whole script, which turned out to just be an in-joke referencing Strange looking into the future. That’s actually a nice little tibit there. So much to digest with this movie

The Captain Marvel tease was done as well as they could short of having Brie Larson appear on-screen as the Captain.

How many people popped like it was Stone Cold running in to save The Rock at Backlash 2000 when Captain Marvel's symbol appeared in the post-credits? My theater cheered hard.

Drax could've got the Gauntlet off if he'd stayed perfectly still.

Drax could've got the Gauntlet off if he'd stayed perfectly still. Drax: “Just get Thanos to stand right next to me, he won’t be able to see me” Stark: “...you’re serious, aren’t you?”
