I guess that's what happens when one studio keeps the central base of these characters, and doesn't change everything about them, while the other studio says "f*** it, we're changing everything. Batman will kill, but somehow despite killing mooks with no problem, he'll let Joker live. And Superman will be mopey, broody, and depressed." That was one comment on YouTube that made me laugh. Saying that the only thing DC had over Marvel was that DC were better at doing moody and grimdark.... and then Marvel released A:IW. Marvel earned the grimdark cliffhanger in IW over ten years. DC can’t just hotshot it into their second movie out. That’s the difference.

When i saw the Marvel United (or whatever it was called) live stage show two or three summers ago she came out to zero reaction. No one, young or old, had a clue who she was. She's too small and can't work brother! Ant-Man's run with the Marvel Jr. Heavyweight Title says otherwise.

Something I just thought of that made me crack up laughing at work. During the final Wakanda battle, Steve talks to Groot and Bucky talks to Rocket. Both act like these are totally normal conversations. They don't question the fact that they are talking to a tree or a raccoon. The Thor/Rocket pairing was great, but I can't tell you how bad I want them to pair Rocket and Steve up. There'd be fireworks.

People forget before IM (2008) came out, the mainstream saw him as a C-list Superhero. He's now on the same level if not more popular than Spider-Man.
Marvel has only been pushing Captain Marvel hard the last few years, and by the time the movie comes out she'll be more popular than most heroes, DC, Marvel, females and males alike.

God, did Ike Perlmutter take an L on that one.

I really think I'd say Iron Man was more B-list. He was one of those like the Flash were everyone knew his name and general powers but only fans knew anything about him beyond that.

The same kind of explosion is inevitable for Marvel.

God, did Ike Perlmutter take an L on that one. That was on Marvel scrambling and deciding to shitcan the movie and make it a D-Level Game Of Thrones takeoff and then taking every interesting thing about the characters out because they had a budget and the crew gave up halfway through making the show. Inhumans, with the right writer and director, could have been on level with Thor for interesting cosmic intrigue. At least Lockjaw was cool.

Feige knows that a combination of audience goodwill and big money for the best people will turn handsome profits. Ike thinks that goodwill alone will compensate for only paying for second rate people working with second rate tools. Frankly, it's a miracle AOS is as good as it is without Disney or Netflix money.

Being built around fan-favorite Phil Coulson (with the supporting cast gradually growing into their own) certainly didn't hurt.

Here's a non-controversial topic: Where the hell did Wanda's accent go? They can't even say she lost it over time because she was living in Scotland with a dude whose accent is British. So for her to suddenly just sound American was jarring.

I mean her and Aaron Johnson had terrible accents in AOU, so I'm not complaIning but wow.

Not as much as Inhumans, but boy did it tell. It's a good thing the supporting cast (even Skye, who thankfully evolved -- both literally and figuratively) is so damn good.

Iain De Caestecker should be at least a Martin Freeman-level star at some point down the line. Such an underrated actor.

Oh yea in regards to Quill, I did like his little arc in this movie as well
He finally got to that extra step with Gamora and he was willing to kill her after she made him promise but Thanos turned his gun into a water gun
Him f***ing up the plan seems to fit into Strange's plans for how they can win this but i've never heard out right ohh Quill is a f***ing idiot for screwing up like that. It does help that in that scene you don't get a cackling villain in Thanos gloating over killing over but him feeling remorseful and sorry but he can't mourn while he's on his conquest

It was super jarring because I had watched Civil War just before heading to the theater to see Infinity War.

Another forum I'm on has a significant contingent who are on the "f*** Quilll" bandwagon, which has descended into a circular argument of "There's no way Thanos could've won if Quill didn't f*** up" vs. "Of course Thanos would still win, they can't use the Gauntlet and he's still ridiculously overpowered!"

I mean it's an interesting debate. They did a good job making Thanos OP as f*** but also vulnerable in a sense and if they got the glove if the best you could have said is they have a fighting chance The problem was the distraction wasn't going to last for long so even if they got the glove fully off(which Spiderman sort of did) what the f*** were they going to do next with it. Quill hastened the pace but unless they said a plan and I don''t remember, they were still stuck on the planet with Thanos and that glove fits none of them to even use it
