We have to be seeing a Women’s MITB cash in to protect Rousey, right? Possibly Assuming Nattie is playing Ronda like everyone expects than maybe she comes in and steals the title and they can do her and Ronda at Summerslam I'm sure they don't want to keep putting her in title situations and not walk out with it

Keep having a thick skin buddy. I guess my question with this decision is....Why? Even in a kayfabe sense Ronda only beat Stephanie. She's not even in the women's division. I guess maybe you can say she's in good with Kurt so Kurt handed her a title shot? But that's not very face-like, is it? Nia challenged her That happen on Raw last week?

I can see why everyone's thinking a screwy finish is likely, but MITB is now part of the 'Big 5' of annual PPVs, so there's a chance they just have Ronda win the title to make the show feel like a big deal. If so, they presumably have her hold the belt until at least Mania, and give Charlotte the Rumble to set that match up.

What the hell happened to "Ronda will be full time"? Is she still fulfilling commitments? Nah, that's just them buttering her up. She pretty much has been full time, bar last week where she was filming Shark Week and this week where she's at the WWE's NBC upfront presentation. She scheduled for some house shows as well.

This seems like one of those things built outside the ring I think Nia has been playfully jabbing her on Twitter and I guess this is just Nia wanting to prove she's the best and being a fighting babyface In the OP, she put Ronda over saying there's not a lot of athletes out there like her While I don't understand why Nia shouldn't be champ until maybe Summerslam this really has nothing to do with her being a sympathetic figure

I don't see anything wrong, in storyline at least.
Since her arrival in WWE no one had bothered to challenge Ronda to an actual match.
Nia is the first one to step up and call her for a match, instead of waiting for Ronda to stop being inactive.
Two birds killed with one stone: -Ronda will wrestle -Nia will stop being a BA Star promoter (I hope) since Ronda is not a petty bully character type
Also since the reintroduction of the concept of Open Challenges I believe we should expect these "random" matches more often

All I know is this match is going to be awful. Considering that Nia's the experienced one & hence will probably be the one to carry the match, yep. Maybe that's why Nia was openly the one calling the match at Backlash? To get her used to it against Rousey... either way, it's a really dumb thing to have this be Ronda's first actual match...

Yea, agreed You would assume she would have gotten a match against Nattie on TV first I guess they assume her series of matches against Mickie will help her on house shows plus any match Ronda is involved in for PPVs will probably be rehearsed heavily like I assume her and Nia would and should be

After that match and promo, how can you keep the title on Nia anyway. Bingo, she is not Kelly Kelly era bad but someone with her mic work and skills in 2018 should have no business holding the title especially as she has never moved merch to justify her place on the card either.

Same reason that Kelly Kelly was the champion and was used a lot. they are (/were) over with the crowd which is the MOST important part of wrestling.

My only thoughts on this is that the promos leading up to this will be terrible, the match will likely be bad, and I'm f***ing bewildered over some fans calling this a dream match.

After that Jax promo at Backlash, I'm already done with her reign. I know this place largely hates Alexa, but I love her because she just *gets* how to get her character across in a way Nia does not. Nia is not convincing in any capacity. She showed potential in her feud with Alexa leading to WM, but it's just not there enough. Maybe down the road.
That said, this seems way too soon for Rousey. She's yet to even have a singles match, and I shudder to think how the promos will be between these two. Nia/Rousey sounds like it could be a big time match in terms of promotion (Nia being unstoppable, Rousey being the one to take her out), but I'm not very optimistic about how this will actually unfold.

If they plan on keeping Ronda a babyface, then I suspect that this decision will be disastrous and that she’ll be the Roman Reigns of the Women’s division. Even if they don’t actually give her the title, a championship opportunity for her very first singles match is clearly giving her way too much too soon and the fans will start to resent her for it.
Seriously WWE, there’s blood in the water here. Just as there was blood in the water before Roman started getting mercilessly rejected. If you're determined on giving her a forced and inorganic push, then turn her heel at the very least.

From what I have seen Alexa is not really that hated here. there are a few very vocal people but it's not full on pitchforks from the majority.
