Not a complaint, really. But as a guy who loves Taker, Bryan, Punk, et al... I’m coming to grips with this.
To be sure, it’s more The Today Show image of Cena and the stuff with Nikki, but she loves the image of Cena as this clean cut nice guy, good with kids, fun and heartfelt.
So the question is while being encouraging and supportive, any recommendations on where to run with this? I mean, besides the first match with Angle, not sure if or what to show next to see what she thinks of the guy in ring and if she will still dig Super Cena.
Thoughts?

My mom used to love the John Cena outside of wwe then she saw The way he treated Nikki on total divas before all the current stuff and quickly soured on the man that is Jonathan Felix Cena.

Have her watch Royal Rumble 2008. IMO the greatest moment of Cena's career.

I legitimately believe cena to be a high functioning sociopath. I don't particularly care because other than holding a few guys down for his payday, and cheating ( :/ ), he's not mustache twirling evil like a lot of them. And if his evil plan to make $ via upping his brand involved him making dying kids happy for a few moments, there are certainly much more evil ones out there. The detachment to emotions, superficial glib and charm, highly hypocritical/rules don't apply to him (Hes a free agent!) Etc. I could be completely off the mark; I find psychology fascinating as I didn't understand my own detachment of emotions/social etiquette until a few years ago (32 now) when I was diagnosed w high functioning autism and an emotional compartmentalization disorder by a therapist I had seen for about 18 months at that point.

I never really thought too hard about the subject but John Cena is one of those people that I’d believe pretty much any story that comes out on him and I’ve constantly been shocked how he keeps the image of being a great guy.

A co-worker of mine recently told me she doesn't like Cena because to her he comes off more like a salesman than a real person.

...Its the idea mom that you think John Cena is the best. Because he's not.....

So your mother is a jabroni mark who doesn't know a work and worked herself into a shoot??? Cena seems like he would be a mother's favourite. You can tell that he would meet someone's mum and just low-key flirt with them and they'd be super into it. "What a nice boy," they would say. And then serve you spaghetti. What's this thread about?

He's definitely a walking dichotomy. Goes from Derrick Bateman to Patrick Bateman from one appearance to the next.

When my mom was alive she was kind of a mark she believed the facade of perfection and not the reality she’d be like “oh he’s so handsome, what a nice body and he does 8 million make a wishes what a dreamboat”(That’s a direct quote) when he’d appear on Ellen,Live with Kelly or any of an sundry of women centric talk based vehicles. She also loved Tiger Woods before the unpleasantness once she sees the truth that person is dead to her and there’s no turning back which is a healthy way to live and I continue that tradition to this very day proudly. One of my favorite quotes from my mother on this specific subject: ”That Cena is a sly devil he’s gonna fornicate the crap out of that poor dimwitted girl and then in a couple years she’ll be useless to him he’ll ditch her for a younger model and she’ll be left unmarried,child-less and alone.Girl’s need to realize that they won’t look like that forever they need to use it to their advantage cause watching this show she comes across as not very bright and about as exciting to talk to as a piece of toast and I’m not talking about a quality gluten free rye I’m talking plain run of the mill white bread.....I also think she has a drinking problem!” Also she wouldn’t make Cena pasta because you needed to earn my mama’s spaghetti.
