Last week, I dismissed speculation that this feud was going to result in a one-on-one match in Chicago, because I thought this company couldn’t possibly be that stupid. I figured both guys were just going to be in the Money in the Bank ladder match to avoid the inevitable crowd reaction that will happen if they go one-on-one. Monday didn’t inspire confidence since neither guy is now in the ladder match.
I mean, are they actually seriously going to do this? If so, I’m actually perversely looking forward to it.

I'm guessing the logic is, "Smarks hate Jinder, maybe the crowd will cheer for Reigns."
More likely, you're going to get a boring-ass 20 minute resthold fest while the crowd chants for CM Punk.

I really don't want to re-up my Network sub and break me "Fix your shit before I come back WWE" decision but oh my god that sounds like the kind of flaming disaster mess I need to see with my eyes

I see about a 10% chance for Jinder to get half-hearted crowd support, 0% chance of Reigns getting crowd support and about a 90% chance of the crowd taking a collective dump on the match and going off the rails to keep themselves entertained.
Basically this is Beach Ball's time to shine brother

You’ve got Reigns, probably at the least motivated he’s ever been, against Mahal, who always gives it the old college try but just isn’t that great, in front of a crowd of known repute that doesn’t particularly care about the heel and openly despises the babyface. Although I’m fairly certain it won’t actually be on last, this time. I think the Backlash card placement wasn’t so much “REIGNS MUST POSE” as it was not wanting to end the card on simultaneous kicks to the dick.

I don't get the appeal of Mahal to some people (few, but still). His push last year wasn't even really an ironic and fun push, but really just a guy that isn't very talented or any good being put in a position as champion he should have never been in. It's not that he's actively terrible really, but more just a mundane, mediocre OVW guy from 2004. The weird thing about feuding him with Reigns is that Jinder has been booked like crap since he got to Raw. The dude has won one match against Chad Gable and otherwise has jobbed clean to Jeff Hardy twice and also to Gable.
I think one problem people have with Reigns right now is that quite honestly his work this year has SUCKED. He really feels like he's stop caring and isn't even putting forth any real effort out there. What decent match has he had in 2018 to justify a push? One could argue when he had shockingly decent matches with Big Show, or Styles was carrying him, or whatever. But this year he had a negative star anti classic at WM, did nothing of any real note before that, was lackluster in the Elimination Chamber, had that miserable match with Joe.
Cena got his split reactions or even outright negative reactions but at least he usually gave it his all in the ring and had solid matches. Right now I'm not even seeing any real effort from Reigns to justify his continued push.

Sunil Singh is going to be the most popular guy involved in that match. The crowd will boo Jinder, they'll boo Roman, but I think they'll cheer and chant for Sunil. The most over guy will be the guy that gets killed in every Jinder match.

But yeah, expect Beach Balls if it doesn't go on last.

Probably opens show.
Vince is an odd, spiteful fellow and I think age is compounding it.
