We're back at Full Sail on the road to NXT Takeover: Chicago II, and with last week's tapings apparently being filmed out of order, I won't be posting the match rundowns here. Instead I'll be going off what's on the DOT COM preview...
This week's big match pits WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne against The Undisputed ERA, but Dunne won't be joined by his usual cohorts in six man tag team matches. Instead, he'll be teaming with Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, who he doesn't entirely get along with. This may well help North American Champion Adam Cole and tag champs Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong, who are familiar with each other way beyond the beginning of the ERA. Will the Bruiserweight be hoping he had Moustache Mountain with him?
Tommaso Ciampa continued his path of devastation last week when he defeated Kassius Ohno, who was out to avenge Ciampa's vicious attack of Johnny Gargano, and then took Ohno out for good measure after the match. Ciampa will not stop until "Johnny Wrestling" is out of NXT for good, so who will the Blackheart target next? If I were Candice LeRae, I wouldn't show up this week...
The NXT Universe got excited last week when The Velveteen Dream confronted Ricochet, as two of the most charismatic performers on the NXT roster prepared to collide. Tonight, the match will happen for free on NXT TV - Dream feels that Ricochet is encroaching on his territory, while The One And Only looks to prove why he's been stunning audiences all over the world for the past several years. Which megastar comes out on top tonight?
Also tonight, Kona Reeves looks to continue his bid to be the "Finest" of NXT as he takes on Raul Mendoza, while Lacey Evans continues her agenda against Kairi Sane, as The Lady of NXT is back in action. All that and much more tonight from 8/7c on the Award Winning WWE Network~!
