I dread to see what they do with He-man.
And he looked ridiculous in the 80s, but I think they'll somehow outdo that.
His 2000s show was awesome though

My two biggest problems with this are. 1. as I said earlier it looks like the OK KO guy drawing the 80's Thundercats, without any kinda originality too it. the 2002 changed and upgraded things but you could still tell who the characters were meant to be... 2. it's a comedy heavy action show where the main character(s) is an idiot. That isn't in itself inherently bad I can think of several good shows that have that as a premise... the problem is that is almost literally EVERY cartoon on right now. and yeah, that is absolutely what this show is because in the preview Lion-o called the Sword of Omens his pointy stabby stick. Can't predict what the writing's going to be like, but regarding the art direction....this Twitter post makes a good point Only one of those is on Cartoon Network, and it's buried at death slots once every two weeks. |

JLA was a fairly good series, it was like the combination of Justice League with the Original Teen Titans show. I saw couple of episodes of the new Ducktales cartoon and it was fine.
This Thundercats series on the other hands screams TTG 2.0.

This is why channels like Cartoon Network are dying, I doubt making the best possible show was ever a thought in the development of this, more how can we take something that's cheap to make and popular and apply it to something with an existing fanbase.

I don't like how people are getting mad at people getting mad about this or discourse with animation whatsoever.
It's like...sure, animation as a whole today is varied and a SHIT TON better than it used to be.
The problem is the style of Teen Titans Go! is not only insulting but also lazy. It's content is the same kind of shit that previous cartoons have gotten shit for: their comedy sucks and it's "stupid". We've finally reached a point where kids cartoons can be intelligent and moral-learning while still having comedy that doesn't immediately go to boogers or farts, and the most popular cartoon today devolves into waffles and pointless jokes.
Sure, we don't know much from this Thundercats, but shutting down people's criticism of the art style seems meaningless when there is merit to their disappointment.

My issue with animation these days is that there seems to be an inverse between appearance and execution. The more stylized and unique the appearance, the less articulate they turn out, and as a result, the animation looks cheaper. Stuff that would get a show runner fired 20 years ago is now highly recommend. It's one thing to expect bad animation in adult shows like you see on Comedy Central & adult swim, but not for more traditional programming. |

Oh...oh no that looks terrible. I don't know what's happened to CN. Like even 3 years ago all the cartoons I watched were on there. Now all of my toons are on Disney XD. (with the exception of MLP of course)
