That match would have gotten 6 stars if the wood under the ring was from a Japanese tree

So this might be why Dream was dressed as hogan I hate when people do that. Like Hulk said "Show me more character, not the same old Patrick." He progressed incredibly quickly and now he's got the best character in NXT and his promos are great. Hulk didn't say he had limitations, he said he needed to work on his promos and he did. Twitter in real life would be the equivalent of running up to two people and shoving one into the other and then yelling "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Bumass trolls.

So this might be why Dream was dressed as hogan I wonder what it was specifically about Patrick that Hulk didn’t like? ...... ...... Anywayyyyyy. I remember that shit. Miz was the only one who knew Dream was going to be a star. When Hulk f***ing Hogan gives you advice on wrestling (no matter what you think of him today) you best take it. Turns out Hulkster was right and Dream took his advice and ran with it. That moment may have made Patrick's career.

As Vince's many failed experiments proved, you can't just slap that character/booking on anyone and have ____amania running wild.

Pretty good Takeover overall. Tag match was awesome, Dream/Ricochet even more so. Zero complaints about either of those. Baszler/Cross sucked but that wasn't exactly surprising - Cross isn't bad but she's not the type to carry anyone, and Baszler is the sort that needs carrying. Black/Sullivan was pretty good save for the whiffed Black Mass at the end. I thought Gargano/Ciampa was just alright. There were some brutal spots but the match was bogged down by A) my thinking the feud continuing past New Orleans was totally unnecessary and B) my knowing that the match wasn't gonna' end until the exposed ring floor was actually used.
Wasn't a bad show by any means though, and will undoubtedly be better than tomorrow's event.

So long as Hogan doesn't have any stake in something, meaning situations that pose no threat to him or his placement, he offers some fantastic advise on operating in the business. When it does somehow involve him, though....

Why do commentators condemn faces for being violent towards their enemies when they try to exact revenge? Most cases aren't like this, but generally, the idea is that faces should be above this level of revenge. Johnny put Ciampa on a stretcher. He'd won. He'd gotten his job back in New Orleans, then tonight, he got full revenge for what Ciampa did to him a year ago. Johnny should have been satisfied with that. Instead, he saw his wedding ring gone and just saw red. Not only kept attacking Ciampa, but also attacked officials. Johnny crossed a line. Usually when we see this sort of thing, the original slight, isn't heinous enough to warrant the revenge enacted.

Gargano had tried to move on, he tried to walk away after making Ciampa tap in New Orleans, but Tomasso wasn't content with that and tried to end his career. In these circumstances it's a rare instance where physically attempting to end your rival's career is actually completely justified, because at that point it was either Tomasso or him.

Now what kind of stipulation do they do in the rubber match to blow this off? Hell. In. A. Cell. The only answer.

Now what kind of stipulation do they do in the rubber match to blow this off? Bro, hear me out bro. How about... ... Get this Bro.... Wedding Ring on a Pole match. Bro. Think about it Bro. The winner doesn't just get the Ring Bro. They also get Mrs. Wrestling Bro. Bro. I swear on my mother grave it'll be huge Bro.

That was a great show and that main event man..
If the main roster could condense this tiny show under 3 hours into a month or even two months of weekly tv, they'd be f***ing set.

Just to tell you how good Takeover was, they were in Chicago with a hot crowd and I didn't hear ONE CM Punk chant. That's gotta be the first time since Punk left that we didn't get a chant.
