So early accounts of this movie sound completely nuts. The opening scene is... {Spoiler}Sonic running down a country road while Gangsta's Paradise plays. Also apparently Sonic is an alien. Early word of mouth seems to be mixed between, "This is crap," and, "This is crap but it's surprisingly entertaining." |

The thing in that spoiler seems like something we would've seen in a Sonic movie done in the mid-90's. Wow... I mean, i could understand if it was a song about speed or racing or something, but why that song? |

It sounds like this movie is going for a "knowingly campy but genuinely fun" mood, which works for Sonic.

Hmm. From what I’ve heard , he’s supposed to gradually become more Robotnik-like as the film progresses, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he loses his hair at some point.
I imagine Jim’ll play him like a cross between Mike Pollock’s Eggman with some of the hamminess of the SatAM one.

Seriously if he lost the hair and put on the glasses he'd look perfectly actually. I feel Sonic works best as one of those animated feature films if I am completely honest.
Live action just doesn't suit his world.

Ah yes,no one is more gangster than Sonic. At least if it was Knuckles  The last scene is interesting,the Scenario looks more fantasy and he looks like old-school Eggman. I wonder if Eggman gets stuck on "Sonic Planet" in the end? |
