It's likely going to happen, given 50/50 booking and all. I hope it doesn't but I can't see why they'd have a rematch when Bryan has decisively kicked Big Ass twice.
Disobeying Vince's direction hasn't seemed to affect their plans at all.

I honestly feel like maybe we are following different programs, because from my vantage point Bryan has son’d Cass at every turn. Probably gonna put a solid whoppin’ on the boy at MITB.

Not surprised. WWE is trying to give Cass a rub. I think Daniel Bryan is in a position it wouldn't hurt him in the slightest because the dude is so universally loved.

Except the idea of Cass having the temerity to beat Bryan rubs some fans the wrong way. I mean, he's going to need an accolade, ala "Boogeyman beating JBL at the Rumble", might as well get it over with.

Cass going over Bryan will only result in the crowd cheering Bryan harder Having Bryan kick the ass of Big Ass and making him tap in 5 minutes would make them cheer just as hard, and considering how The Casshole asked Vince for permission to do something, was denied it and did it anyway, that is what will probably happen. With the number of matches on the PPV, some of them are going to be short and this one will probably be one of those matches.
Bryan should be booked as an underdog against the likes of Braun and Lesnar. But against an opponent as limited as Big Ass, he shouldn't be.

...Honestly, if they want Big Cass to have an ounce of juice going forward, he kinda has to win this one.
Dude has looked like ass, point blank. If we're being real, this program was dead in the water when Cass just got tapped out clean in like 8 minutes at the PPV but we're still supposed to care for some reason or buy this goof as a believable threat. Bryan seems to consistently have the upper hand with Cass getting in the occasional bitch hit.
So, if Cass wins? Totally fine with that BUT I don't think he will because Shinsuke needs challengers when he wins the belt at MITB. Then again, they could have Cass win at the PPV and then just have Bryan win a four way or something on the next TV. We'll see, I guess.

Do we know that Nakamura is winning at MITB? I see a Joe/AJ title feud right there for WWE to do...
I think Bryan's booking since his return has sapped a lot of his momentum. It's like "Hey, you wanted this guy back so bad. Great. Now we'll feud him with Big Cass, job him left and right, and generally make you wish he hadn't come back." Most of this is his contract situation. It would not shock me if Bryan lost to Cass, but then that means we'd need a 3rd PPV match at Extreme Rules for the blow off. The problem with Cass on SD is there is no one for him to feud with that makes sense. At least on Raw he'd have the obvious Strowman feud or the dreaded Reigns feud. SD has smaller faces that don't really make sense against him.

It would confirm that Bryan is leaving in September.

Why not, it won't do Bryan any damage?

Why not, it won't do Bryan any damage? It won't get Bryan any more over, and Bryan is a dude that should be in the Main Event and WWE should be booking him like a main eventer. This is a guy that should be booked to get him as over as possible so having him tap The Casshole out in 5 minutes would be by far the preferable result.

Honestly, and I know that having so many wrestlers necessitates having two rosters, having two different World titles dilutes pushes for me. It's hard for me to care, especially when Raw's champion stays home most of the year.
Smackdown has all these talented people competing for a belt that will never be seen as important as the other one.

It seems crazy to me that they would clear him without extending his contract. Especially since Triple H said "we were worried he'd wrestle elsewhere." All I'm finding is speculation on whether he would or wouldn't.

I'm not saying Cass hasn't looked like shit since he came back, mostly because he just sucks anyway, but I don't think he's been bitched out every time.
Other than that one show Bryan snapped and beat the crap out of him every other time they've interacted has ended with Cass on top.
Even their PPV match ended with Cass attacking Bryan, even though Bryan won the actual match.
