Maybe you need to jam an Ipod in there or something

What's the color of the little light around the power button?

The only light I see is a green one on the power source

When you say nothing happening, do you mean theres nothing on the sreen, or you cant do anything with the controller?

I mean the screens blank and nothing appears to be happening. The disk drive wont open, so it apparently isnt on, but everything is where its supposed to be im pretty sure.

Is there a power switch on the back of the console, like the ps2? and on the power cord itself, is there an on/off switch?

Both have a light. Are you positive everything is plugged in right? Sometimes the cord connecting to the system is a little hard to get in

Hit open on the disc drive, then press on the actual tray like it was a button. That should get that open. If you still don't see anything, recheck your plugs.

When I first got mine, I didnt have the cord that hooks into the TV all the way in the system. I got a red light though, not a green one.

oh yeah, make sure the part that connects your 360 to your TV isn't switched to HD, unless you have an HDTV, than make sure it is.

Ok, I got it. It was the cord like PKS said. I had noticed it was hard to get in and I thought it was in well, but I pressed down on it and hit the power button at the same time and it came on. Thanks to everyone for your help. I'll probably be right back here when I go blank and cant figure something else out.
