As reported before Mavs are in on DeAndre whether he opts in with Clippers or becomes a FA Interest is their for both parties so it seems the 3 year wait will come to an end if they can get him via trade or signing He's def going to throw CP3, Blake, and Doc under the boss if Mavs get him forreal this time CP3 and Doc I can see, but why Blake? Blake and CP3 were the ones who had him at his house not answering the phone calls from the Mavs when they got him to change his mind
Doc supposedly promised him if he stayed they would feature him more in the offense and not just make him a lob catcher but he'll also get a few plays a game of offense

I mean I get that, but it's not like Blake asked for a trade and jumped ship like CP3. He seemed intent on sticking with the Clippers until they traded him.

True but still he was part of the group that held him up from going to a destination he wanted to be at and that got him hated in Dallas (though we will see for how long)

I don't want any part of Kawhi in Boston. Again anything Boston trades would be pieces with big upside for a guy who missed a year., has questions about his desire and has mentioned he wants to be in LA when everything is done.

Best thing about that whole situation was this...

I just know the Kings are going to be tied to higher upside exciting names like Jabari Parker and Zack LaVine, strike out on them, then end up with McDermott/Hezonja and Elfrid Payton on overpays.
Those names would be far better than lousy vets like George Hill and ZBo from last offseason though. (After striking out on Porter and another I can't remember)
Who are the older dudes Vlade can overpay for this offseason?

1st big LeBron decision today
If he opts in then that doesn't automatically means he stays with Cavs but it also keeps a team like Houston alive because they don't have the cap for LeBron
If he opts out then a Cavs door isn't closed but teams like Philly and Lakers with cap are liking their chances

What if this is all a work by Kawhi and Popovich? It would be the heist of the century if they get the Lakers,Celtics or 76ers to trade away a bunch of young players and draft picks in exchange for Kawhi who will agree to a long term deal, then Kawhi pulls a DeAndre Jordan and goes back to the Spurs in 2019.

The problem with that is if he says he's going to sign a long term deal he's signing that as soon as the trade is completed ASAP. He will not play the whole year with that one year deal left
Every team bidding for him is not giving up a ton of young assets without that assurance he's signing a long term deal so that scenario is very slim
Baseball is different from basketball in that regard. Cubs got Chapman from the Yankees to make a world series run and knew they wouldn't re sign Chapman so they accomplished their goal and Yankees got the best of both world with prospects and a returning Chapman

I love it when a plan comes together.
Now the only thing standing between us and a championship is Lonzo's worthless ass.

They got to sign the contracts and get the trades done first Let’s not get happy before things get done but in saying that if I’m a Lakers fan (which I was at one point thanks to Kobe) you have to be really optimistic about landing either George, LBJ, or Kawhi. If not two of the threee

Yes, let's not count those chickens before they hatch. Remember basketball reasons.
As much as I hate the Lakers and Lakers fans, I'd still root for Lebron if he went there.

I still want LeBron on the Warriors just to blow up the entire league and cause real change to occur
